What's On Tonight (Thursday): It's a Lorre, Lorre, Lorre, Lorre Night!

via Giphy

Tonight, Chuck Lorre makes TV history by being the first sitcom creator or co-creator to have a program for all four half hours of a block. I'm amazed it took us until 2021 for such a phenomenon to happen. Kind of a special thing to happen on my first day as WOT's regular Thursday correspondent. And how about that gif, huh? I made it myself.

NON-PRIMETIME BROADCAST/CABLE SELECTIONS
Child's Play, 7 a.m., Syfy: For whatever reason -- because it's April Fools? -- Syfy is running a 22-hour marathon of the movie series that scared the bejeezus out of me as a little boy. It begins with the 1988 movie I'm planning to finally watch in full later this year.

The Doctors, 12 p.m., Retro TV: The pilot episode of one of the two soap operas which premiered on April 1, 1963 will be rerun today. In 1963, The Doctors was an anthology rather than a continuous soap. "Whatsoever House I Enter." "Dr. William 'Scotty' Scott (Jock Gaynor) performs two surgeries with different outcomes."
(This will be rebroadcast at 7:30 p.m. and airing at 4 p.m. on MyRetroTV.com.)

General Hospital, 2 p.m., ABC: The other soap opera that premiered on April 1, 1963. I haven't watched it in years, but it was the one I cut my teeth on, so to speak. It was my late grandma's favorite and it inspired a nifty disco song. In your face, The Young and the Restless!
