Occasional cooks: Easter

Here is your weekly thread to talk anything and everything food.

Share your cooking this week, ask for tips or recipes for a dish, tell us about your meals out.

It's Easter this weekend!

My family doesn't celebrate Easter at all, apart from the excuse to buy chocolate. And let's face it, that's a daily activity for me anyway. If you're wanting to make your eggs a little 'gourmet' this year, try these dulce de leche creme eggs.

I know for many, an Easter Sunday Roast is the way to go, with lamb the traditional choice. This slow-cooked Greek lamb is great. Lamb is not to everyone's taste, but the Greeks know how to do it right.

I love hot cross buns - they go on sale here the day after Christmas, although I usually try to hold off getting them at least a couple of weeks, out of respect for the season. Soft, warm, smothered in butter... mmm.

And I'll use up the stale ones in a bread and butter pudding. Here's a recipe for a super-fancy dark chocolate and Easter egg bread and butter pudding.
