What's On Tonight (Sunday): Last Tango and latter day love in Halifax

Last Tango in Halifax (via Ginges Be Cray)

Congratulations! We did it!
Welcome to the end of the 2019-20 television season! Whew. It was a season, amiright?! Quibi. Disney+. HBO Max. AppleTV+. Peacock. Remember Almost Family? Remember Sunnyside?? So the final Top Pick of the season goes to the super charming British dramedy Last Tango in Halifax, which stars Anne Reid and Derek Jacobi as long ago friends who rekindle their friendship and it quickly turns to a Love in Their 70s. There is plenty of family conflict as their daughters (Sarah Lancashire, Nicola Walker) don't mingle easily and carry plenty of baggage. It's sometimes dark, but I love it.

Elsewhere, it's the Emmys! There will be a live thread, duh. For those who want to watch TV rather than TV awards, Dwight does a flashback, Richard Scott Smith meets his demise, the war over Halloween rages, animated oddity Sugar and Toys is back, and CNN likes Ike.

And the Emmy goes to... What's On Television for the episode "Sunday, September 20!"
