What's On Tonight (Wednesday): SHIELDs up for the last mission
Agents of SHIELD
Happy Wednesday, TV viewers! Tonight, we say goodbye to the agents of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division and their show that started big yet with a whimper before becoming appointment television. When did that happen? Depends who you ask. I say the improvement wasn't really until season three, but most others will point to late season one and season two. During the past seven seasons, the team has faced a lot of bad guys, meant some amazing allies, and gone on plenty of bonkers adventures through time and space, especially as the distance between it and the Marvel Cinematic Universe grew. In their final mission together, they fight to restore the their timeline and keep SHIELD intact. (And no Disney, I will never call it Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.)
Elsewhere, Shark Week and NBC's competition duo help breathe some life into the usually sparse Wednesday listings. Also helping out is the latest nature doc from Smithsonian, HBO looks back at the Yusuf Hawkins killing, ID examines Charlottesville, and BET gives Ruff Ryders docuseries treatment.
Wheels up in five, here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, August 12!
