Welcome to the August edition of Readers of Books. Please share what reading material you have acquired, read, abandoned, and/or recommend. Don't read? That's okay too.

I'm judging you, book....
Whether we like it or not we judge things all the time and book covers are no exception. By nature we are drawn to things that are attractive, interesting, pretty or cool. It's probably no surprise that there is a whole field dedicated to book cover design. Although e-books have gained huge popularity, physical books are still outselling them (CNBC). Cover art has changed over the years with more consideration being given to how it looks as a tiny thumbnail image on Amazon or B&N (BuzBooks). So, what makes you take a second look at a book cover? Do you look for images that are stereotypical for your favorite genre?
What's your favorite book cover? Worst?
