What's On Tonight (Monday): "I May Destroy You" Sets Its Sights On Monday Nights

Via Giphy

Hello Everybody, Tonight's Top Pick is this British made HBO show that I literally hadn't heard of until Amadeus told me about it last week. I saw the trailer to it and it looks like its an ongoing mystery drama with comedic overtones about what happened to its leading character after blacking out at a party??? I don't know, it was either this or going with American Dad again (which i most certainly will again because Mondays Be Slow!) This is What's On for June 29th 2020

8:00

The Neighborhood (CBS): Rerun of the 2nd season premiere (which itself had already previously been rerun so this is a rerun of a rerun!) Dave wants to take a bigger role in the community somehow and Cedric tries to tell him that while he's come to like him, he's not so sure if the rest of the community will embrace his wacky enthusiasm. (Its an ok enough season premiere)

The Titan Games (NBC): West Legion 3--The Circus Comes To Town! (Yay?)

The Bachelor-The Greatest Season Ever (ABC): This time, there's a 3 hour look back at the season that starred Jo Jo Fletch. (Who???)

9-1-1 (FOX): Rerun!

Whose Line? (The CW): NEW episode with Greg Proops (Greg Proops 3!)

Antiques Roadshow (PBS): NEW--Vintage Philly, An Assler cut yellow diamond ring circa 1930; a Charles Rohlf's Mahogany chair; a 1968 Picasso drawing. (Its really more of a doodle)

Guy's Grocery Games (Food): "Sweet and Savory"

Prayers for Bobby (Lifetime): Sigourney Weaver stars in a 2009 tv movie about a woman who becomes an advocate for gay rights after her son kills himself. (Awww)

All of My Heart (Hallmark): A woman inherits half a house while developing an unexpected friendship with her co-owner. Starring Lacey Chabert (of course!), and Brennan Elliot, and for some reason--Ed Asner!

8:30

Bob Hearts Abishola (CBS): Rerun that is about Abishola going out on a 2nd date with her former suitor--that Nigerian pharmacist, and Uncle Tundie goes behind Auntie Olu's back to tell Bob about it because Tundie very much prefers the big American marshmallow to the braggart trying to still impress Abishola.

Whose Line? (The CW): Rerun of Cedric the Entertainer from May. (Hey that episode was Top Pick when it first aired!)

9:00

All Rise (CBS): Rerun of an episode from December that had Judge Lola using a rarely used judicial power in which she fires a lawyer for failing to provide an adequate defense for his client. (Wait can judges do that??? Apparently???) Also Mark's dad (played by Major Crimes' Tony Dennison) is arrested for murder in what goes on to be a plotline for a couple episodes. (CBS! CBS! CBS!)

The Wall (NBC): Sisters Karen and Lori face The Wall and also start a charity that puts hand dryers in gloves (Wait that can't possibly be right)

9-1-1-Lone Star (FOX): Rerun!

Penn and Teller Fool Us (The CW): Teller Vs. Penn (Ohhh Its On!)

POV (PBS): "And She Could Be Next, Building the Movement" Women of color transforms politics from the ground up as they fight for a reflective democracy.

I May Destroy You (HBO): Top Pick of the night goes to this ongoing HBO show that is apparently an import from the BBC. Tonight "Two months after the incident that kicked off the show, Arabella meets with a therapist who encourages her to find out new ways to cope with her lingering trauma; Arabella's book agents assign another writer to help with the writing process of her current book whose manuscript is due soon" (Why not make this show Top Pick???)

American Pickers (History): Robbie crosses the Rockies with a legendary car in tow; Mike and Medford go for a high speed joyride in a banned muscle car without breaks. (That doesn't sound safe!)

Big Time Bake (Food): Cookies, cupcakes, and a cake in the shape of creatures who live under the sea. (Fudgie the Whale????)

Buried Worlds with Don Wildman (Travel): A mysterious diary of a former SS officer leading to a cave that may be hiding supernatural weapons (???); a crypt where the Nazis held occult ceremonies via black magic. (The episode is called "Nazis' Supernatural Weapons" Oy)

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Sgt Carter bets that any knucklehead can handle a supply sergeant's job.

9:30

Green Acres (MeTV): Oliver finds evidence of a 19th century romance while looking thru an old trunk.

10:00

Bull (CBS): Rerun of the show's season premiere (its 4th season premiere to be specific) which finds Bull taking a case involving defending a bartender who's on trial for involuntary manslaughter (She gets charged because she kept serving a guy who then went home and murdered his wife or girlfriend or something and somehow the DA decided to charge the young woman who poured the murderer the drinks because it was the alcohol that gave him the courage to do the murders??? That's not how the law works right???) Bull tries to devise a strategy to make the jury get that the bartender could not possibly have known that the guy she was pouring drinks for was going to do when he left the bar.

Dateline (NBC):

American Dad (TBS):  Steve and his friends take part in a prison experiment for some cash; Stan deals with the death of his CIA groundskeeper friend. (Awww)

Pawn Stars (History): "Mystery Safe" (ooh!)

Duff Takes the Cake (Food): A soccer ball cake for kids at the LA Galaxy's home stadium.

Beyond the Unknown (Travel): A strange close encounter in Florida; a phenomenon of biblical proportions; the chilling tale of a fabled beast living at the bottom of one of the Great Lakes. ("Gulf Breeze UFO; Blood Falls; and The Lake Erie Monster")

WELCOME TO THE WORK WEEK---MONDAY TV IS BORING, RERUNS LEAVE YOU SNORING, WELCOME TO THE WORK WEEK!!!!
