What's On Tonight (Tuesday): Raise A Glass To The "Empire" One Last Time

Howdy everyone....Tonight Fox's one time mega smash hit show "Empire" which was a bit like Dynasty (or Dallas) but set in the high stakes world of recording labels (hit records and going platinum were like the equivalent of striking oil here) ends its six year run with the network....However, the show was originally supposed to go out with twenty episodes, and instead thanks to Coronavirus Shutdown it only got to film 18 of those episodes....and rather than drag it out for another season, Fox declined to give them a two hour wrap up movie, so it looks like the show might (might) be wrapping up with a "non finale" finale! (shakes head) This is What's On For April 21st 2020!

8:00

NCIS (CBS): Since CBS ran out of new episodes last week, NCIS is in rerun mode and tonight we have an episode where the murder of a petty officer is accidentally streamed to hundreds (thousands maybe?) of gamers across the internet on a popular gaming site (the officer was on said gaming site when he gets killed) and our intrepid agents have to find out who might've witnessed it in addition to finding out the who and the why of said murder.

Ellen's Game of Games (NBC): Its a rerun!

The Masked Singer (FOX): Its Also A Rerun!

The Conners (ABC): Also in rerun mode tonight is the ABC sitcom lineup tho they each still have one new episode left (i believe) so why ABC is waiting a week to air them is kind of a mystery to me.

The Flash (The CW): However new tonight is " After Black Hole hires Rag Doll to kill Joe, Singh suggests that Joe go into witness protection; Ralph runs into Sue Deerborn; Iris becomes suspicious of Eva. (Is Iris still trapped in the mirror world with Faux Iris being out in the real world???) (Anyways on a night where practically everything is in rerun mode, its nice to see The Flash still out and about!)

American Experience (PBS): Plant breeder Norman Borlaus solves India's famine program and leads a Green Revolution among agriculturists, saving 1 billion lives in the process  and winning a 1970 Nobel Peace Prize as well. (Nice)

Nature Lover (Hallmark): Your Hallmark Movie of the week is this one where "A city girl named Katie must rough it in the woods for a week while researching an article assigned to her about Glamping" (I'm guessing she's a writer???) Starring Christopher Russell and Emilie Ullerup. ('Ullerup!!!')

8:30

Bless This Mess (ABC): Rerun of the time Rio threw a wedding for her filthy rich best friend (played by Nicole Ritchie) in Bucksnort  (Not exactly a resort destination but Rio was determined!)

9:00

The Grammys Present A Tribute to Prince (CBS): And what better time to salute the music maker then on a night when most of the competition is in rerun mode anyways right????

Ellen's Game of Games (NBC): Yet Another Rerun!

Empire (FOX): The series finale (but possibly unintended series finale) for this show has as a plot line " In the midst of the Bossyfest launch, and the fight to finally regain control of Empire once and for all, Cookie reflects on her life and the woman that she has become in the time since her release from prison (which was the first episode of the show!); Luscious finds it impossible to deny his feelings for Cookie (tho that doesn't mean that he won't try some more!); Luscious prepares for the battle of his life. (which is just vague enough that it could mean literally anything!) (Raises glass) "TO THE EMPIRE!!!!"

Mixed-ish (ABC): Bow and Santamonica discover fashion in this rerun episode.  (shrugs) Its a cute show tho!

Legends of Tomorrow (The CW): Sara, Constantine, and Charlie all find themselves in British Columbia searching for another piece of the mystical Loom; Zari has been having trouble finding herself, so she goes on a mediative journey at the suggestion of Behrad. (Well why not? Its not like any trouble can possibly find her or nothing!)

Frontline (PBS): This week the estimable journalism show takes a look at "Cornoavius Pandemic" (Nooooooo!!!!) and how its affecting people in the middle of the country as opposed to people on the two coasts. (I'm gonna guess because the two coasts have been widely covered by the regular news media at this point???)

Curse of Oak Island (PBS): The ultimate revelation may be within the fellowship's grasp as new evidence suggests that Samuel Ball was guarding something of great value on the island. (Was it a vhs copy of "The Money Pit???" "A first edition vhs copy of The Money Pit!!")

Deadliest Catch (Discovery): A typhoon slams the Saga forcing Jake and Johnathan to make joint decisions about how to avoid the eye of the storm while on the seas.

Chopped (Food): A rare snack food is in the appetizer round and the entre round contains a mashup ingredient that the chefs don't know what to do with. (This is part of the "Beat the Judges" series that the show is doing currently btw)

9:30

Black-ish (ABC): That episode that had Dre volunteering at the twins' junior high school carnival (He does the "Dunk Tank!" from what i remember) Michael Jai White guest stars as an overly involved dad who doesn't have a job which is why he can volunteer for everything at the school, and Dre becomes kinda jealous at how close he is to his own kids whereas Dre feels that he's kind of at a remove. (Its an ok episode--I do like the eps where Dre tries to become a more involved dad)

One Day At A Time (POP): Penelope is worried when alex needs a large amount of money right away; Schneider and Avery contend with an unwanted gift from Dr. Berkowitz. (that's Stephen Tobolowsky's character right?)

10:00

New Amsterdam (NBC): Rerun!!!!

For Life (ABC): New episode airing after two hours of comedy reruns finds "Aaron flashing back to the previous 9 years of his life--from his initial days as a nervous novice prisoner to his more recent days as an attorney and a crusader for prisoner rights" (Its a little too early for this show to be doing a clip show type of episode--but that's kinda what this sounds like right? Its only the show's 10th episode!!!!)

Enemy of the Reich-The Noor Inayat Khan Story (PBS): An hour long doc focusing on a young Muslim woman who journeyed to Paris to join Churchill's covert operation to give the Allies' a chance at victory.   (Based on a true story! Well of course it would be, its a PBS doc!)

Hot Ones the Game Show (Tru TV): The Pepperdome has a young couple going head to head against a pair of fishing cousins. (Fishing Cousins???) A tackle box of commemorative hot sauces is given a closer look. (?!?!?!?!?)

Secret of Skinwalker Ranch (History): Alien sightings directly over Skinwalker Ranch. (shrugs) (ok)

Supermarket Stakeout (Food)

10:30

The Last OG (TBS): Tray takes Shahzad to a basketball game and tries to teach him how to finesse his way to courtside seats. (at Madison Square Garden or Barclay's Center I'm guessing); Josh feels insecure about his own relationship to Shahzad and worries that he won't be seen as cool anymore. (Was he ever?!?!?!?)

HAVE A GREAT TUESDAY ONE AND ALL! I"LL BE AROUND THO ALSO DOING TRIVIA BUT SINCE I"LL BE IN FRONT OF THE COMPUTER I"LL STILL BE HERE KINDA SORTA!
