What's On Tonight (Thursday): A Lotta Stuff's On Tonight, But I'm Rollin With Brooklyn 9-9--Back For Season 7

So there's a number of new tv shows all oddly choosing tonight to premiere on on various networks, why and how does a thing like this happen? This isn't Fall Premiere Week here and yet we got FOUR brand new shows all premiering tonight in addition to the return of B99 and The Sinner. (shrugs) This Is Sparta!!! By which i mean---this is WOT for Thursday February 6th 2020
8:00

Young Sheldon (CBS): Sheldon and Georgie mine for platinum om roadside gravel (what?); Mary is concerned when Missy uses religion to help with her batting slump. (Have i mentioned before how much this show reminds me of Leave It To Beaver??? I'm telling you these plotlines would not have been out of place on that show)

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (NBC): Season Seven Kicks Off with 2 back to back episodes tonight! (Meaning there's no episode of Superstore airing tonight--Sorry Evil Lincoln) In the first episode "Jake leads a manhunt after an assassination attempt on a city councilor; Holt adjusts to his new position as a uniformed officer" (Well I gotta imagine that he was a uniformed officer at one point in his long career with the NYPD)

Last Man Standing (FOX): Mike and Vanessa each try to influence Jen's career path; Kristin uses her pregnancy to her advantage with Outdoor Man customers. (How long do you think Jen is gonna be living with Mike and Vanessa??? Like they can get away with having her live there for a 2nd season, but its gonna be weird if the exchange student is staying there for like four years in a row or something-although that never seemed to bother the writers of That 70s Show so nevermind)

Station 19 (ABC): While Pruitt grieves a monumental loss, Andy refuses to do the same and instead throws herself into her work; The crew responds to a widespread carbon monoxide leak; Sullivan makes a controversial choice for new captain. (Controversial??? Its gonna be Roseanne isn't it) (Man that'd be something)

Katy Keene (The CW): PREMIERE of this "Riverdale" spin-off show starring Lucy Hale as the title character even tho I swear we've never seen her on Riverdale before tonight--"Katy struggles to manage the pressures of her job at Lacy's Department Store (LACY'S???) and her demanding boss; Katy's longtime boyfriend reveals something surprising about himself; Jorge auditions for a Broadway play, but it does not go as planned (Hey what does?) In addition to Ms. Hale we also have Ashleigh Murray (from Riverdale!), Jonny Beauchamp, Jilia Chen, and Camille Hyde. (Who are these people?)

Grown-ish (Freeform): Luca sends off a confusing text to Zoey that has both of them spinning; Ava leads the girls around campus on a "form storm" voter registration drive; Aaron reels after learning about his massive student loan debt. (Oh Grown-ish!)

Night Of Various Town Halls (CNN): CNN is spending the prime-time hours with town hall meetings with 3 different Democratic Presidential Hopefuls---at 8 we got Bernie Sanders answering questions. At 9--we got Mayor Pete answering questions...and then finally at 10 we got longshot contender (but still in it to win it) Amy Klobuchar answering questions. (Shrugs)

Insta-Pyscho (Lifetime Movies Network): I'm only including this one in the listings because look at that title! "A woman must protect her teenage daughter from a friend who is obsessed with social media" (LOOK OUT ITS REEFER MADNESS FOR THE NEW AGE!) Starring Nicky Whelen, John Kelly, Mackenzie Vega (Insta-Psycho--hahahaha)

Surprised By Love (Hallmark): Your Hallmark Channel Movie of the Night is this one where "A young businesswoman tries to convince her uptight parents to accept her boyfriend but then she falls for an old high school flame" (Why is it important to the plot that she's a young businesswoman??? She could literally be anything in this situation and it still wouldn't matter!) Starring Hilarie Burton, Paul Campbell, Tim Conway, and Leanne Lapp. (Please let Tim Conway be the old high school flame! I would give anything to see that quite honestly!)

8:30

The Unicorn (CBS): Wade convinces Forrest to take his career advice, but the results end up being disastrous (Awww); Ben lands a lucrative opportunity for his company, but Michelle is uncomfortable with their success. (Episode is titled "The Wade Beneath My Wings" Awww!) ("Did you ever know that you're my Unicorn??? You're everything i wish i could be...I could fly higher than a um Unicorn...cause you are the Wade beneath my wings") (CBSSSSSSS CBSSSSS CBSSSSSS Now You let me fly so high thank you thank you CBS for you the Wade Beneath my Wings)

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (NBC): In the second of the back to back episodes tonight "A new captain at the precinct attempts to ingratiate herself with Jake and the squad by inviting them over to her house for a dinner party." (A dinner party??? What is this an episode of Frasier over here???)

Outmatched (FOX): Mike's parents Jay and Sylvia visit from Florida; Mike's insecurities come out when Jay zones in on his parenting style; while Kay becomes jealous of Sylvia's growing bond with Nicole.  (I got nothin' here)

Everything's Gonna Be OK (Freeform): Nic forgets how to talk to grown ups and has a dinner party (Oh Come On Now Really) to meet Alex's best friends; Matilda goes to her first high school party with a goal in mind; Genevieve's friends get riled up and act out in the name of justice for some reason. (The episode is titled "West African Giant Black Millipedes")

9:00

Mom (CBS): After a successful kidney transplant, Bonnie is concerned that Tammy's aunt (Kathleen Turner) is taking her new 2nd chance at life for granted; Christy tries to track down a handsome stranger she believes to be her soulmate. (There's no way that plotline ends well for her--or maybe it does and i'm genuinely surprised! Either way!)

Will and Grace (NBC): The title pair decide to intervene when they discover Grace's niece is dating a bisexual. (I'm not sure why they would hold an intervention for that but maybe they're running out of plotlines at this point???); Jack gets permission from his husband to sleep with his celebrity hall pass (I assumed his celebrity hall pass was Kevin Bacon and he already met him that one time!); Karen struggles to adapt when her assistant (Vanessa Beyer!) books them on an economy flight. (Oh poor Vanessa Beyer is gonna be the brunt of Karen's displeasure here isn't she?)

Deputy (FOX): When a gunman walks into the medical wing of the LA Correctional Facility that Paula is volunteering at, Bill looks for a way to get her out; With only 3 months left for Bill as sheriff, others decide to make a run for the position. (Well i mean I would assume if Bill was no longer sheriff, he could still at the very least be the titular deputy right???)

Grey's Anatomy (ABC): Jackson creates an uncomfortable situation when he invites his new girlfriend (who's a character on Station 19 btw) to what he thinks is Richard and Catherine's anniversary celebration; Lexi brings Nico out on a trip to visit an ailing family member. (Which one's Lexi again??? I forget who half the characters are on the show now---come to think of it who the heck is Nico???)

Legacies (The CW): When a series of events leads Josie, Lizzie, and Alaric to the prison world, they all come face to face with the twins' evil uncle. (Now the episode is titled "Kai Parker Screwed Us" which would indicate that Kai who was kind of an annoying villain during one of the later seasons of Vampire Diaries is gonna be guest starring, but wouldn't the twins' evil uncle be Damon Salvatore???)

The Bold Type (Freeform): Kat goes out of her way to help a transgendered runner get into the NYC Marathon; while Jane and Ryan try a different kind of marathon to rebuild their relationship (Oh come on); Jacqueline's new situation at work leads to tension with her husband. (That new situation at work??? Being handcuffed to her new intern--No I don't actually know)

The Sinner (USA): 3rd Season Premiere of this show that features a new cast of characters with the sole exception of Bill Pullman who's the detective investigating some enigmatic new crime that's been committed but the answers about whodunit and whydunit are murky and hard to parse.  This season's premiere features Matt Bomer as I would presume the guy being front and center of Bill Pullman's current investigation. (The synopsis reads "Detective Ambrose investigates a tragic yet suspicious car accident on the outskirts of Dorchester") Co-starring Tracey Letts and Carrie Coon (Hmmm!)

Project Runway (Bravo): The challenge is all about turning the tuxedo on its head, inspired by Christian Siriano's Oscar look for Billy Porter; the designers must find a way to take the tuxedo into the future with a mix of male, female, and non-binary models. (The episode is titled "Suit Yourself")

30 For 30 (ESPN): Part Two of "VICK" (the documentary about Michael Vick)

Restaurant Impossible (Food): Robert Irvine tries to rescue a restaurant that is located in a 200 year old mill in Garrottsville Ohio.

Ghost Adventures (Travel): I'm only featuring this because they visit the Ripley's Believe or Not Museum!

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Gomer has a severe case of stage fright before he is set to appear in the Navy Relief Show. (SHAZAM!!!)

9:30

Carol's Second Act (CBS): When Carol learns about Lexie's secret hobby, she also ends up finding out an even bigger secret that everyone else knew about except for her. (Its 100% gotta be that her daughter is dating fellow intern Daniel which the show keeps treating like a big deal even tho its totally not); Caleb goes to bat on behalf of a patient with an insurance company who won't insure them. (CBS? CBS? CBS?)

Indebted (NBC): PREMIERE of new Fran Drescher sitcom that has her as the mom to Adam Pally (and Abby Elliot plays his wife!) "Young parents Dave and Rebecca end up having to take care of Dave's parents who have mishandled their finances and must pay down a sizable debt" STEVEN WEBER (AKA WINGS GUY) plays Drescher's husband!  (The ads for this honestly did not look particularly good, but maybe it'll be ok??? I mean you got a solid cast of pros here...)

10:00

Tommy (CBS): PREMIERE of a new Edie Falco drama that finds her being appointed the first female police chief of LA (The episode is titled "In Dreams Become Responsibilities" which sounds like a line from a haiku) (If this is successful, maybe they can do a cross-over with Blue Bloods!)

Law and Order Special Victims Unit (NBC): Kat steps over the line when she suspects a trainer at her boxing gym is taking advantage of his students. ("You're Over The Line Kat!" is a line i fully expect to hear coming from Benson's mouth at some point in the episode)

A Million Little Things (ABC): Gary takes a big step and confronts his past; Maggie finally talks to Eric; Regina's adoption news causes tension in her already complex relationship with her mother. (Ohhh Its Always Something With You Million Little Things!!!)

Briarpatch (USA): PREMIERE of a new drama/noir type show starring Rosario Dawson and Alan Cumming (it looks oddball enough to be appealing) "Allegra Dill (I know) returns to Texas after her sister is murdered." In addition to the two stars you also have John Aylward, Jon Beavers, Kirk Fox (who's pretty underrated honestly), and Edi Gathegi (who's also fairly underrated!) (One of the exec producers of it is Mr. Robot's exec producer although its not his baby exactly--meaning its not written by him the way Robot was)

Impractical Jokers (Tru TV): Joey, Sal, Q, Murr pose as concierges in a hotel lobby; then they try committing insurance fraud with the help of some confused strangers; tonight's losers suffer a very personal punishment. (The episode is titled "The Paternity Test")  (Obligated Simpsons Quote--"Stealing, Stealing, Stealing A Car For Moe, Ba-da, Ba-da, Ba-da, Ba-Da...Insurance Fraud Today!")

All Things Valentine (Hallmark): Lastly i'm gonna throw in this ridiculously titled Hallmark movie starring Sarah Rafferty (aka Donna from Suits--She was great on Suits btw--easily my favorite character) as a blogger who has terrible luck on the holiday in question until she meets a hunky veterinarian who as it happens has been leaving some really awful comments on her blog. (What Is A Girl To Do???? Scrambled Eggs All Over Her Face...)

I HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD ENOUGH THURSDAY---FRASIER HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!!!!!!!
