Yee-Haw! This is What's On for Valentine's Day 2020. (Aww)
Streaming:
HULU has two brand new shows premiering tonight!
One is a tv adaptation of "High Fidelity" which much like both the movie and the book it was based on--is about a record store employee who is looking back at former relationships to see where they all went wrong in hopes of trying to figure out a way to salvage their current relationship. The TV show flips the gender of the main character tho, so instead of a love lorn John Cusack its Zoe Kravitz who is the star! (Oh Jake Lacy's gonna be on it too!)
The other new series premiering on Hulu tonight is something called "UTOPIA FALLS" which is about "in the future, in the last living colony on Earth, 24 teenage candidates are chosen to take part in an annual music competition called The Exemplar. Aliyah, one of the 24, views this as an adventure and is taken by an ancient form of self expression called hip-hop (eye roll) which will lead her to question her place in society. Channeling the rebellious nature of hip-hop, Aliyah and her friends challenge the government for the freedom of her people. (Oy) (No seriously, this is like bad fiction an inner city high school English teacher would write!)
Netflix meanwhile has the premiere of a new Shaun the Sheep Movie! ("Farmegeddon") That's a sentence I never thought I'd type!
Netflix also has a German language show called Isi and Ossi which is about "A billionaire's daughter from posh Heidelberg, and a poor girl from the working class town of Mannheim become friends" (this is a show???)
Apple TV has a new 5 part Documentary series called "Visible: Out on Television"
Disney has a tv show called "Fairy Tale Weddings" which seems to be a reality show about people having their dream weddings at Disney World resorts and locations. (Could they be more of an advertisement???)
