- Amal, an impact officer from Minnesota, sets trivia wise guys straight;
- Judy, a project manager from Florida, takes classes in kickboxing with MMA types; and
- MacKenzie, a program development director from Oklahoma, drove to the world's largest pistachio (Larger. Keep going.). MacKenzie entered the game as a three-day champ with winnings of $85,601.
Amal held the lead most of the way with the help of correct responses on both of her DDs. But a miss by Amal on the final clue of DJ, along with a rebound by MacKenzie, gave the champ first place into FJ with $16,000 vs. $12,800 for Amal and $5,400 for Judy.
DD1, $600 - LESSER-KNOWN NAMES - Philippe Curtius taught her the art of wax modeling & in 1794 left her his 2 museums (Amal won $2,800 on a true DD.)
DD2, $2,000 (video, picture of a colorful round object) - KNICKKNACK - A high-stakes card game shares its name with this French glassmaker that produces gorgeous paperweights like the one seen here (Judy lost $3,000 from her score of $8,400 vs. $11,400 for Amal.)
DD3 - $1,200 - ESTABLISHING SOME BORDERS - Egypt to its east, Algeria to its west (Amal won $3,000 from her total of $12,200 vs. $9,600 for MacKenzie. Amal had a chance here to put away a champ with proven comeback ability, but she didn't quite bet enough to nail it down.)
FJ - THE RACE TO SPACE - In the 1960s this Mideast country had a space program & one of its rocket launches, the Cedar IV, is commemorated on a stamp
MacKenzie and Amal were correct on FJ, so that last clue of DJ was indeed decisive. MacKenzie added $9,601 to win with $25,601 for a four-day total of $111,202.
Triple Stumpers of the day: No one knew the title character from the Showtime drama with Jon Voight, "Ray Donovan", or the country that has an eastern border with Argentina and Bolivia is Chile.
This day in Trebekistan: After some prompting by Alex, MacKenzie remembered that she won enough on the previous show for a BRAND NEW CAR.
Correct Qs:
DD1 - Who was Madame Tussaud?
DD2 - What is Baccarat?
DD3 - What is Libya?
FJ - What is Lebanon? (Or as MacKenzie wrote to Alex's derision, "Lebbenon".)
