Jeopardy! recap for Fri., Feb. 7

Brenda had a chance to grab first place on DD3, but didn't bet enough and settled for second going into FJ with $12,800 vs. $15,400 for Gauravi and $11,000 for Patrick.

DD1, $600 - WOMEN'S MEMOIRS - "I Feel Bad About My Neck", about the travails of aging, is by this late, great writer & director of "You've Got Mail" (Gauravi lost $1,000 from her score of $3,600.)

DD2, $1,600 - EGYPTIAN MYTHOLOGY - The Egyptian sun god known as Kherpi at dawn & Atum in the evening was known by this 2-letter name at midday (Gauravi added $2,000 to her total of $9,000 vs. $5,400 for Patrick.)

DD3, $2,000 - CIVIL RIGHTS & WRONGS - This discriminatory practice comes from the colorful borders on maps around areas where minorities found it hard to get loans or credit (Branda won $3,200 from her score of $8,800 vs. $14,200 for Gauravi.)

FJ - QUOTES ABOUT 19TH CENTURY AUTHORS - This author "showed that abysses may exist inside a governess", a heroine who was a "commonplace spinster"

Only Gauravi was correct on FJ, adding $10,201 to win with $25,601.

Triple Stumper of the day: The players didn't know the word for a bullhorn that follows "meat" in the dictionary is megaphone.

Pop culture problems: In a category about actors named Fred, no one knew the one who created "his own dances on film" was Fred Astaire, could identify a photo of Fred Willard, or name "Double Indemnity" and "My Three Sons" star Fred MacMurray.
