And lo and behold she then let out a great big moan for she could not believe she was still not quite fully grown. (Amadeus This One Was For You!!!) This is What's On for January 16th 2020
8:00
Young Sheldon (CBS): Sheldon learns to listen when an emotional Paige struggles with her parent's divorce; George Sr is furious when Georgie (aka George Jr) tries to buy his way out of his chores. (Good Lord, its like they're actively leaning into the "Leave It To Beaver" comparisons at this point)
Superstore (NBC): The employees wrestle with the loss of their co-worker Myrtle (the actress who played her passed on a couple months back); Jonah is surprised by the large sum of money she evidently left to him; Cheyenne admits Mateo into a possible pyramid scheme; and Dina reconnects with her long estranged father. (Sounds like a lot is happening here--i wonder if they got anyone well known to play Dina's dad)
Last Man Standing (FOX): 2 new episodes are airing back to back in this hour much like they have the last 2 Thursdays in a row---we have for plotlines "Mike debates what to get Vanessa for a business anniversary gift; Kristen and Mandy try to get out of Kyle's Outdoor Man HR orientation; Vanessa is secretly obsessed with Jen's new...." I have no idea what i wrote here...it kinda looks like "winter jazz" but that can't possibly be it. (I for one am looking forward to finding out what Vanessa is secretly obsessed with)
I have no idea what ABC is airing in the 8 o'clock hour since every single place I've checked has Jeopardy Greatest of all Time listed but obviously that's not gonna be the case. Maybe the last episode of Grey's Anatomy that aired gets rerun ahead of next week's return with new episodes???
Supernatural (The CW): Sam and Eileen are faced with the brutal truth; Dean and Cas work together in the hopes of getting a step ahead of Chuck/God. (Welcome Back Supernatural!!!!!)
Grown-ish (Freeform): Top Pick Tonight Returns for Season 3 with "Junior year finds the gang throwing a HBC-U themed Homecoming party to kick off the semester; Zoey returns from her summer abroad and realizes that she has to quickly confront her feelings for Aaron and Luca" (Me having made this Top Pick tonight btw is literally me trying to court favor with Amadeus as I know he's a fan--Me, I never actually made it past a handful of episodes in its 1st season, tho i remember liking it ok-ish.)
Love's Complicated (Hallmark): Your Hallmark Channel Movie of the Night is this one where Holly Marie Combs surprise enrolls in a conflict management class pushing her to develop her inner strength. Co-starring Ben Bass and Corbin Bernsen. (nods) CORBIN BERNSEN!!!!
8:30
The Unicorn (CBS): The women from the Widows' Support Group offer Wade advice for getting out of his dating rut, While Michelle is recuperating, Delia relentlessly pushes her to follow strict advice for getting better. (Sounds terrible quite honestly...but i trust Michela Watkins to make this plotline work!) (She's Delia btw) ]
The Good Place (NBC): Michael runs some tests and Chidi gets some good advice from Jason (The episode is titled "Mondays, Am I Right?" (You are right The Good Place! You are definitely right)
Everything's Gonna Be OK (Freeform): Premiering tonight is this series that's about "Nicholas' single dad has cancer and is told he's going to die soon so Nicholas offers himself up to be guardian to his 2 teenage half sisters" in this hour long pilot presentation. (Is it sitcom? Is it a drama? Is it both?)
9:00
Mom (CBS): Christy and Bonnie support Marjorie when she attempts to reconnect with her estranged son; Tammy sees another side of Jill while working as her employee. (The episode is titled "Silly Falls and a Repressed Garden Gnome" This show always does titles well!)
Will and Grace (NBC): Grace and her neighbor give their romance another shot, but an embarrassing incident puts Grace in jeopardy (What is what happens in every other episode Alex?) Will decides its time for Jack to grow up and cuts him off financially. (Sweet Sassy Molassy!!!)
Deputy (FOX): After a mysterious shooting leaves one of their own injured, Bill and the team go out on a mission to find the shooter; When Undersheriff London tries to take control of the department, Bill reminds him who's in charge. (Oh i know this one--its Bill isn't it--Bill is the titular deputy! Do i win something for knowing this despite never having seen the show? No? Oh well)
The Last Days of Richard Pryor (ABC): This 2 hour profile takes a look at the comedian's later years when he was wasting away due to Multiple Sclorosis---he still worked whenever he could tho as he did "Another You" with Gene Wilder, and made several appearances in things like "Lost Highway" and "Mad Dog Time" and "Martin" Remember he showed up once in an episode of Martin? I wonder if that gets covered here. (nods)
Legacies (The CW): The Necromancer gets his plan for revenge in motion; Hope offers to help Josie learn more about her "mora miserium"; Alaric enlists Landon's help to find out if Sebastian is a threat. (The episode is titled "I Couldn't Have Done This Without You" which is how I feel Leagcies)
Project Runway (Bravo) The designers are challenged to think about their family histories and channel those stories into a look of their own choosing; the stakes are high in this "one day" challenge as the designers must face and embrace who they are in order to succeed. ("There is only one you" is the title of the ep which I guess makes sense!)
Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Gomer's penchant for Welsh rabit stew causes him to tell off Carter while sleepwalking. (Whoa)
9:30
Carol's Second Act (CBS): When the interns are given performance evaluations by Dr. Frost and Dr. Jacobs, everyone takes their critiques surprisingly well except for the titular Carol. (shakes head--well who could've predicted Carol would be the one to not take criticism well???)
Perfect Harmony (NBC): Arthur gets a surprise visit from a former Princeton colleague causing him to re-examine his life in Conley Fork, the chior holds an all night Hymn A Thon to raise money for regionals; Ginny attempts to prove that they are now dependent upon Arthur. (nods--they're getting closer to the end as i believe next week is their 13th episode)
Everything's Gonna Be OK (Freeform): After that hour long premiere, the series airs its 2nd episode with "Nicholas wishes he could call an adult after the death of his father; Nic, Matilda and Genevieve struggle to return to regular day and night routines; navigating the stay at home parent life is harder than Nic thought." (So its like The Unicorn except in reverse!) (AHHHH Reverse Unicorn!!!!)
Green Acres (MeTV): Lisa takes a psych class and finds that the townspeople are eager to tell her about their problems. (Careful Lisa!!!)
10:00
Evil (CBS): Leland assists a serial killer Orson Leroux with having his conviction overturned; Laura undergoes emergency heart surgery; David witnesses a woman's evil instincts first hand. (The episode is titled "Justice Times 2") (Also any episode that has Leland front and center in a plotline is probably gonna be extra eeeeevil)
Law and Order Special Victims Unit (NBC): After a sex assault investigation is stalled for months, a woman puts her accusations against a popular athlete on a billboard. (Ahh the show is finally doing a "Three Billboards" type of episode!)
Beat Bobby Flay (Food): Things get zany in the kitchen when the king of dad jokes Bob Saget teams up with Anne Burrell to get a last laugh on Bobby; Also Philly chef Aliza Green and North Carolina chef Sam Diminich team up to Beat Bobby. (Bob Saget?!?!?!? Sometimes the guests this show pulls in can be quite random!)
THAT"S ALL I GOT FOR RIGHT NOW--HAVE A GOOD THURSDAY??? YES THURSDAY!!! (THURSDAY! THURSDAY! THURSDAY!)
