What Up Everybody??? This is what's on January 9th 2020 (I still can't get used to the idea that its 2020 already quite honestly--the future really does not seem like it is upon us here and yet the calendar does not lie.)
8:00
Young Sheldon (CBS): George and Meemaw struggle to manage the household when Mary becomes overly busy trying to plan Pastor Jeff's wedding which itself was very sudden and last minute; Missy tries to save the live chicken living next door from being killed by hiding it in her and Sheldon's bedroom. (The episode is titled "A Live Chicken, A Fried Chicken, and Holy Matrimony")
Superstore (NBC): After Cloud 9's acquisition, Amy struggles to contact the store's new parent company; Sandra enlists Garrett and Dina's help to stand up to Carol; Glenn wrestles with his career decision; and Jonah takes up the cause of gender equality. (Ugh Jonah, sometimes i relate to you quite a bit, but then you say or do something like this and i think "yeah i can see why the other employees sometimes make fun of you")
Last Man Standing (FOX): In two brand new back to back episodes we have at 8-- "After a chat with Bonnie (?) Mike struggles to balance "Me Time" with finding common hobbies that he can bond with his wife Vanessa over; Kyle and Ryan mourn the passing of their favorite fantasy writer" And at 8:30 we have "Kristen entrusts Mike with her gender reveal party but does not want to know the gender herself which Mike has to go to great lengths to try and hide from her"
Jeopardy Greatest Of All Time (ABC): Night 3 of the Ken vs. James contest (and what a contest its been!)
Supernatural (The CW): Rerun of the last new episode that aired back in December which would suggest that the show will be back next week! (Next Week! Next Week! Next Week!)
Love On the Sidelines (Hallmark): Your Hallmark Channel Movie of the Night is this one where "A down on her luck woman gets a job as an assistant to a football player out on injury" (Does Love Find the Two of Them??? You Tell Me!) (Starring Emily Kinney and John Reardon)
8:30
The Unicorn (CBS): Wade considers moving his relationship with Anna forward but only on the condition that his daughters approve of her; Delia, Gracie, and Natalie are hit hard by memories of Jill (aka Gracie and Natalie's mom) while preparing to sell off some of her belongings at a garage sale. (But how much is the titular unicorn going for at said garage sale???) (What do you mean it's a metaphor--Since when does CBS do metaphors???)
The Good Place (NBC): Moving up a half hour, this show kicks off the last run of episodes it has tonight with "The group works to negotiate an afterlife plan with Shawn and The Judge" (Oh yeah, you gotta have one of those if you're gonna try to navigate the wilds of the afterlife)
9:00
Mom (CBS): Christy and Bonnie help Tammy with a difficult decision when her tough as nails long lost Aunt Cookie appears with a surprising proposition. (Aunt Cookie?!?!? A Surprising Proposition?!?!? Christy and Bonnie?!?!?!? Ok that last one is less surprising but i needed a 3rd thing to react to in that plot summary.)
Will and Grace (NBC): Also moving up a half hour is this durable sitcom where tonight "Will thoroughly commits to becoming a single dad but upon meeting a potential surrogate whom he initially bonds with is then alarmed at her lifestyle choices; Grace meanwhile pretends to be a former famous Annie to gain entrance into the annual Annie convention" (Annie Convention?!?!?!? Is this an actual thing?!?!?!? Don't worry Grace, the sun will come out tomorrow!)
Deputy (FOX): Still struggling with his new responsibilities, Bill refuses to stay out of the field when a criminal whom he is personally connected to resurfaces; Two new deputies take the field and Bill isn't sure how to best communicate with them as the new boss. (Well of course there's gonna be a personal connection--i mean the phrase "This Time Its Personal" didn't become a cliche by accident!)
Truth and Lies-The Jeffery Epstein Story (ABC): Oy. New two hour doc/profile of the life of that icky dude who was in the news several months back for equally icky reasons! (I'm not one to use the word "icky" lightly, but i think we can all agree no matter what the circumstances of his death were, the man was the definition of the word Icky.)
Legacies (The CW): Another CW show...Another Rerun of the last episode that aired before December break timed to the return of the show next week. (The episode being rerun tonight is the greatly titled "This Year's Christmas Was Surprisingly Violent")
Project Runway (Bravo): Singer Cyndi Lauper inspires as well as guest judges a team challenge. The designers must create cohesive mini collections paying homage to Lauper's 80's fashion style with a modern twist; Christian meanwhile throws out a mid-challenge twist that changes everything. (The episode is titled "Sew 80s" which made me ostrich chuckle when i first saw it because "That's Sew 80s") (Huh-haa)
American Pickers (History): Mike makes a perfect trade securing a motor for his 1911 Indian head motorcycle. (This may or may not be a Best Of ep...I honestly can't tell anymore but it was listed as being new)
Restaurant Impossible (Food)
Alaskan State Troopers (Nat Geo)
Reclaimed (Discovery): New series premieres tonight about modern prospectors who look for new business opportunities while out on an old mining claims. (Don't they already have a show exactly like this?!?!?!?) (No seriously!)
Gomer Pyle (MeTV): He holds a farewell dinner in a Chinese restaurant that is a front for gambling. ("Gambling at a Chinese Restaurant??? I'm Shocked Gomer!!!!") ("Well Gollly!!!!")
9:30
Carol's Second Act (CBS): Carol pretends to be an attending doctor to get her patient into the ICU; Jenny and Daniel run into Dr. Frost when they finally go out on their first date. (Dr. Frost is Kyle MacLachlan--I'm sure if Twin Peaks has taught him anything, its how to keep a secret right???)
Perfect Harmony (NBC): This show slides back an hour starting tonight with "At Conley Fork's annual pageant, newly assigned judge Arthur tries not to show favoritism towards Cash despite Ginny putting pressure on him to do so; Reverend Jax wonders if Adams should address the unflattering rumors about how her marriage ended. (I guess it depends on how vicious said rumors are honestly)
Green Acres (MeTV): Lisa transforms a recipe for cabbage soup into spot remover. (Ohh that Lisa, always making something from something!!!)
10:00
Evil (CBS): After David is badly wounded, he is determined to fight off the menacing presence of death from his hospital bed. (Wait is death now officially a presence/character on this show? And more importantly--Will there be a Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey homage on the episode??? I could see David playing Twister from his hospital bed!)
Law and Order Special Victims Unit (NBC): A desperate father takes matters into his own hands in the case against his daughter's rapist. (Is this gonna be another episode where a guy takes the courtroom hostage??? Cause i feel like the show's done that multiple times at this point)
Beat Bobby Flay (Food): Chef Geoff Lazlo faces off against Cincinnati chef Daniel Wright and then Chef Josh Capon tries to take Bobby on with help from Teri Hatcher for some inexplicable reason. (Teri Hatcher??? of all random people in the universe--Teri Hatcher??? Sure why not!!!)
There is also a rerun of The Carbonoro Effect on Tru TV from November that takes on CATS! (I wasn't sure if it was the animal or the musical but Cats!)
HAVE A GOOD THURSDAY EVERYONE!!!!
