What's On Tonight (Saturday): Celebrate the land down under, where wildlife glows and invasives plunder

Seven Worlds, One Planet, "Australia" (via Giphy)
'Ello, mate! Take a look at these lil beauties! Tonight's pick is the new BBC wildlife series, which aired a special late last year but now begins its run as a series. Seven Worlds, One Planet spotlights each continents, and what better one to spotlight first then the one that is in the news every day. Elsewhere, All That is back, another Aaron Hernandez series debuts, and Sword Art Online finally returns. Look! It's Godzilla! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, January 18!

πŸ’» STREAMING / EARLY PRIMETIME

Doctor Who πŸ“Ί (Retro TV, 6 p.m.): The Fourth Doctor wakes up! Hilda Winters, director of a research institute, plots to use the experimental robot K1 to steal the nuclear launch codes and blackmail the Earth's governments with them. This is also the introduction of Harry Sullivan.

Shane πŸ“Ί (getTV, 6:45 p.m.): Did you know Shane was also a TV series, not just a movie? Spend the afternoon with the first stretch of episodes, concluding with episode eight, when Shane (David Carradine) feels he's lost the battle for Marian's heart when she receives a letter from back East from an old boyfriend.

FOR THE RECORDChocolate (Netflix, 3 a.m.); Criminal Confessions (Oxygen, 6 p.m.)

πŸ•— EASTERN / πŸ•– CENTRAL

Aaron Hernandez's Killing Fields (Reelz, 8 p.m.): For those craving more Aaron Hernandez than the Netflix docuseries, Reelz offers a three-part series on the former NFL star-turned-murder suspect.

All That (Nickelodeon, 8:30 p.m.): The All That cast 3D-prints a new cast member. Tammy shares too much information. Contestants in a game show try to stay off their phones. And scientists re-creating a Tyrannosaurus rex get a big surprise. At the end, AJ Mitchell performs. (Who?)

Henry Danger (Nickelodeon, 8 p.m.): Henry and the other kids destroy Ray's prized movie prop, The Theranos Boot. To replace it, Henry and Jasper travel to an alternate universe Man Cave using Bill Evil's interdimensional transporter and steal their Theranos Boot before Ray finds out.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters πŸŽ₯ (HBO, 8 p.m.): As a ginormous fan of the Godzilla franchise, this is my pick for the most disappointing movie. While it delivers on big monster battles, introducing several Monster Island residents, the plot is a major drag with a lame attempt at social commentary and predictable twists and villains. Even the epic battles feel underwhelming because they are so unearned. This is Destroy All Monsters disappointing.

Stolen by My Mother: The Kamiyah Mobley Story πŸŽ₯ (Lifetime, 8 p.m.): At the age of 18, Alexis discovers she was abducted as a baby and the mother she thought was hers is really her kidnapper. This is based on a true story, but reminds me more of Finding Carter. That show had such a great first season. Oh, and the special is followed by the special Beyond the Headlines: The Kamiyah Mobley Story with Robin Roberts at 10.

Svengoolie: The Old Dark House πŸŽ₯ (MeTV, 8 p.m.): New episodes kick off with the quality 1932 Boris Karloff flick about five travelers who seek shelter one bizarre and terrifying night at the Femm family estate.

πŸ•˜ EASTERN / πŸ•— CENTRAL

Love on Iceland πŸŽ₯ (Hallmark Channel, 9 p.m.): Seeking inspiration for work, Chloe gathers her college travel group back together for a trip to Iceland. When her ex shows up uninvited, she kills him. Just kidding, they fall in love, which happens whenever anyone runs into an ex.

⭐ Seven Worlds, One Planet (BBC America/AMC/Sundance TV, 9 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. In the latest BBC Earth import, the wildlife of each continent gets the spotlight. First up is Australia in an episode that was of course made in the years prior to the fire. But perhaps can also shine a light on the endangered and keystone spices that are exclusive (and beautiful) to the land Down Under.

In this Christmas episode, after settling a number of routine disturbances around town, the Rookies enjoy a Christmas dinner at the home of Jill and Mike Danko. Jill and Mike are also entertaining their niece who is upset over her parents' separation.

The Sonny and Cher Show πŸ“Ί (getTV, 10 p.m.): Betty White, Ed McMahon, and The Sylvers stop by in this 1976 episode.

Dr. Stone (Adult Swim, 11:30 p.m.): Hyoga is disarmed, but the kingdom of science is still in danger. And Tsukasa will soon know that Senku is still alive.

Hill Street Blues πŸ“Ί (Heroes & Icons, 11 p.m.): When murderer Forest Whitaker is released from prison, detectives from the Hill keep a close eye on him. Meanwhile, Bates meets a young shoplifter named Fabian. Plus, an assassination attempt on the mayor looks rooted in police corruption.

My Hero Academia (Adult Swim, 11 p.m.): Kirishima faces his past when he and Fat Gum get separated from the others.

Demon Slayer (Adult Swim, 1:30 a.m.): The constantly transforming house separates Tanjiro and Zenitsu. Tanjiro encounters a demon musician and a man wearing the head of a boar.

Fire Force (Adult Swim, 12:30 a.m.): Shinra evolves his skill with the Adolla Link and makes a discovery about the power's nature.

Food Wars! (Adult Swim, 1 a.m.): PREMIERE. Season two begins! Soma must best Alice Nakiri in a bento battle in the first round of matches between the final eight competitors. This series runs continuously since season two was produced years ago. In fact, four seasons exist.

The Invaders πŸ“Ί (MeTV, midnight): A colonel abuses his authority to attempt to force the aliens into a settlement, much to Vincent's disapproval.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind (Adult Swim, 2:30 a.m.): Narancia hunts down his assailant with a hail of bullets as Formaggio tries to understand his attacker's tracking skills.

Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld (Adult Swim, midnight): PREMIERE. Six months after fighting Administrator, Alice spends time with Kirito in her hometown looking back at past events. The show returns, beginning the fourth part of its story ("Alicization Invading") and adding to its subtitle. Part five will commence next month.
