Jeopardy! recap for Wed., Jan. 15

Please welcome today's contestants:

- Oishee, a tutor from California, looked into her extended family;
- Laura, an English professor from Georgia, is a competitive ballroom dancer who knows where the man's hand belongs; and
- Veronica, a librarian from Oregon, is the mac & cheese champ of the Pacific Northwest. Veronica entered the game as a two-day champ with winnings of $52,000.

Veronica tried to close the door on DD3, but she missed and everyone was alive into FJ with Veronica at $10,400, Laura with $8,000 and Oishee at $6,600.

DD1, $800 - FAMOUS & HISTORIC WOMEN - Let's tell of her and nothing but her -- she was born a slave in New York in the 1790s & once freed, sold a book of her "Narrative" (Laura lost $600 from her score of $1,200.)

DD2 (video, photo of a small room with a wintry scene visible in the window), $800 - COMPOSERS - If you visit this country, you can enter the room where Edvard Grieg did his composing in the home he built (Veronica won $3,000 from her total of $8,800 vs. $7,200 for Laura.)

DD3, $1,600 - BORDER RIVERS - The only river that serves as part of a national border in the Caribbean is the Artibonite River on this island (On the last clue of the round, Veronica lost $3,000 from her score of $13,400 vs. $8,000 for Laura.)

FJ - CHILDREN'S LITERATURE - Einstein's theory of relativity & Max Planck's quantum theory inspired this book that won a 1963 Newberry Medal

Veronica and Oishee were correct, with Veronica adding $5,601 to win with $16,001 for a three-day total of $68,001.

Triple Stumpers of the day: In a category about book title mash-ups, no one figured out "The Prince of Santini" is "The Prince of Tides" and "The Great Santini".

Shameless shilling: There was an entire DJ category about Netflix shows that really would have been more appropriate for the first round. Also, there was a plug for Wheel of Fortune using a clue about the WoF slot machine.

Correct Qs:
DD1 - Who was Sojourner Truth?
DD2 - What is Norway?
DD3 - What is Hispaniola?
FJ - What is "A Wrinkle in Time"?
