What's On Tonight (Thursday): A Christmas Carol Carols Once Again

There's a handful of things on tonight including yet another Democratic Debate (Bleech) (That's my biting political commentary right there), FX attempting yet another version of A Christmas Carol, and Project Runway, Unfortunately there's not much on the actual networks but there is a good Young Sheldon rerun on...Anyways This Is What's On for Thursday December 19th 2019

7:30 A Christmas Carol (FX): Guy Pearce, Andy Serkis, Stephen Graham, Joe Alwyn all star in this new retelling of the old familiar story of Ebeneezer Scrooge and the ghosts that haunt him. (Bah Humbug???) (Also Pearce is playing Scrooge, i realize now that the way i said that they're all starring in it makes it sound like all 4 actors are playing Scrooge, and frankly i would welcome any unique take on this old chestnut at this point.) This is airing straight thru til 10:45 btw! THAT'S OVER THREE HOURS LONG!!!!

Twice Upon A Time (Netflix) New imported show about a man receiving a mysterious package that contains a package to the past giving him a chance to win back his ex. Starring Gaspard Ulliel

8:00

Young Sheldon (CBS): Sheldon boycotts his favorite bread company. (This may not sound like much of a plotline, but the episode veers off into a wild plotline where Sheldon unwittingly embraces Communism and the rest of the family tries very hard to make themselves look like good upstanding patriotic Americans lest they become town pariahs.--Its very Leave It To Beaver-esque--"Wally what's communism???")

Miss America 2020 (NBC): There She Is....wait didn't Fox do this like a week or two ago??? Or was that Miss Universe??? Anyways this eats up two hours of NBC's lineup tonight. (Oh Boy!)

Last Man Standing (FOX): Preparing to return to the network in two weeks with new episodes, tonight we have two reruns episodes airing back to back--the first one involving Mike reluctantly inviting Ryan to his weekly poker game and the second one involving Mandy and Kyle reluctant to move out into their own apartment now that its finally ready to be moved into. (Why? I honestly forget the reasons tho i know i saw these episodes cause i remember these plotlines!)

Prep and Landing (ABC): This now annual Christmas special about elves taking over for Santa or something gets its yearly airing followed at 8:30 by its sequel---Prep and Landing Naughty vs. Nice  (How they havn't made a 3rd one yet called Prep and Landing: Naughty by Nature is beyond me)

I Heart Radio Concert Special (The CW): How many of these did the network make exactly??? They seem to bust one out onto its schedule every time they need something to fill up airtime.

Democratic Debate (PBS): This time the candidates assemble at Loyola Marymount University. Not sure how PBS got the honors of airing this this time around but there you go.

A Christmas Winter Song (Lifetime): Clio who runs a Christmas shop (what is a Christmas shop???) forms a special bond with a former jazz singer named Fred. Starring Ashanti and Stan Shaw.

Christmas Getaway (Hallmark): After a surprising breakup, a travel writer decides to go on a Christmas vacation trip alone. Starring Bridget Regan and the wonderfully named Travis Van Winkle.

Four Christmases (AMC): I'm Seeing Double Here---4 Christmases!!!!  (bows) Thank you!

8:30

The Unicorn (CBS): In this rerun episode Wade changes the password to his dating profile and Forrest being the ever snoopy friend that he is tries to keep tabs  on him in increasingly outlandish ways; the girls are conflicted when a tv show they had watched with their mother returns for a new season and don't know how they feel watching it without her. (This was very much a case where the subplot should've been the main storyline as it is much, much, much stronger and carries more emotional weight)

9:00

Mom (CBS): In another rerun,  Bonnie and Christy are concerned when Adam's former best friend returns claiming to be a newly changed man. Guest starring Bradley Whitford!

Prodigal Son (FOX): Another rerun ep filling up an hour for Fox.

The Great American Baking Show (ABC): Two hours of this! (and such small portions!)

Naked and Afraid (Discovery): 2 survivalists navigate the dense jungles of a deserted Panamanian island, an all star duo goes on on unprecedented 60 day challenge in the Philippine Island of Palawan, a team overcomes clashing survival strategies in the jungles of Panama. (nods) (Panama ba-bum- ba-bum)

Temptation Island (USA): Finale of this show that i've completely ignored the entire time its been on!  (That's the only way it'll learn what it did wrong!)

9:30

Carol's Second Act (CBS): Dr. Jacobs collapses while running a marathon and Carol becomes her doctor and you can bet that conflict is had when the two don't agree about her treatment. (Conflict!!!)

Project Runway (Bravo): The designers are startled by a surprise visitor; the designers are challenged to show their holiday spirit in the perfect party dress channeling their own holiday memories; the designers must transform a winter wonderland into a wearable wonder. (Who writes these?!?!?!? The episode is titled "Sleigh the Runway")

Green Acres (MeTV): Neighbors and friends all believe that Oliver has gone bankrupt. (Its nice that they care I guess???)

10:00

Evil (CBS): Debunking a local prophetess but then her visions start coming true deeply concerning the titular trio. (I remember this being an ok episode???)

Gwen Stefani's You Make It Feel Like Christmas (NBC): Another star tries her hand at a holiday special. (Should've called it "You Make Me Feel Like Christmas---I Wanna Christmas The Night Away!"---You Make Me Feel Like Christmas--I Feel Like Christmas (whoo) Christmas (woo) Christmas The Night Away... (You get it!)

Carbonaro Effect (Tru TV): Michael delivers a shock in a shipping area when a package of wine tips over and ruins the bubble wrap; Michael wears the latest fashions at a popcorn shop; Michael stuns his helper when a trick jumps off the screen at a theater. (The episode is titled "Popcorn Pants" which i'm gonna bet alludes to that 2nd plotline there!)

Ghost Adventures (Travel): Marel Field Air Museum in Riverside CA

Matchmaker Christmas (Lifetime): Maggie must help her boss find a date for their office Christmas party. (Why would one even need a date for that? Couldn't you just hope to meet someone there?) With Emily Rose and Corey Sevier.
