Saturday Night Live (via Giphy) |
Here, I want to hear about what you listened to in the past decade that has stuck with you, whether an album or single song. It doesn't have to be from the 2010s. Plenty of my music picks would be from the '60s and '70s, some of which I only recently discovered; most of it was a rediscovery.
"Peanut Butter Jelly" by Galantis
"Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars
"Dance Yrself Clean" by LCD Soundsystem
"I Love the Nightlife" by Alicia Bridges
"Someone Like You" by Adele
"Octopus's Garden" by The Beatles
"Get Ready" by The Temptations
"Come and Get Your Love" by Redbone
I don't think my musical tastes have changed too much in the past 10 years, but they have been more cemented in my likes and dislikes. Lady Gaga, Daft Punk, and Adele are still some of my favorites and nu-disco is one of my preferred modern genres. I rarely listen to rock and plenty of top 40 stuff comes and goes without ever hitting my radar. I frequently return to rap music and have learned a much deeper appreciation for female rappers.
"Born This Way" by Lady Gaga
"Super Bass" by Nicki Minaj
"Voi Signor, che giusto siete" from Le Nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
What was popular this decade? The Billboard end-of-year charts are here.
"Decade of Pop" (100 Song Mashup) by DJ Earworm
And of course... MELISSA MONSTERS UNITE:
