Mongolian Groom, a horse in the final race of the Breeders Cup at Santa Anita was put down after being pulled from the race with a broken leg. The thirteen prior races in the Breeders Cup ran without incident but protesters were outside because of previous deaths of horses at Santa Anita. Mongolian Groom was the 37th horse to die at Santa Anita since last December. [ESPN]
