Harry Styles--that heartthrob from "One Direction" is the guest host tonight. The man whom was born in 1994 has never hosted before tonight but has been the sole musical guest previously once in 2017. "One Direction" has been the musical guest three times in the past on top of that. (Once in 2012, once in 2013, and once again in 2014) (It shows you all how much i follow popular music that the only song of theirs i recognize at all is "That's What Makes You Beautiful" the other songs performed during their various SNL appearances i couldn't begin to sing to you if i tired!)
So this is altogether the man's 5th time as musical guest on SNL. Not too shabby if you ask me. But tonight will answer the question "Sure he can sing, but can he read cue cards as well???" Well i don't see why he wouldn't be able to right?
Anyways the Vintage SNL on tonight for those of you who are interested is the Jerry Seinfeld hosted one from October of 1999 which also features David Bowie as the musical guest. I vividly remember watching that one live...I even remember how much I was looking forward to it when it was announced too. Its the episode where he does the sketch where he gets sentenced to a prison term in "Oz" as punishment for the disappointing series finale of Seinfeld. (ha) If i remember right there's also a sketch where he wears a yamaka and glasses and is a new high school basketball player whom Molly Shannon's Mary Katherine Gallagher character is into. Those may be the only two things I remember now--Oh right his monologue has him talking about how he's really into the show Wings now that he has free time again to do things. ("I also like this show on Telemundo called Aeropuerto--Its a lot like Wings") David Bowie sings "Thursday's Child" and i think the 2nd number might've actually been "Rebel Rebel" rather one of the new songs off of the album he was there to promote ("Earthling" if i remember right)
My Saturday's been pretty dull except for the excitement we had this morning when the exterminator came---I was sure the insects were coming up from the sewer, but it turns out they were tunneling in from the garage--he sprayed the perimeter to make sure, and we opened the garage and it was like a scene out of Arachnophobia except instead of spiders they were really really nasty looking spider crickets...but it was my mom actually shrieked! So he sprayed a lot of poison in the garage (My mom was all like "Yeah i'm not opening that garage door back up until well into the spring") I'm crossing my fingers, but there's already like a lotttt less bugs here in mi casa de basement (and by a lottt i mean like i'm seeing bodies but nothing actually crawling around still living which is great tho i suspect there's prob a couple of strays hiding out in back of like the desk here but I ain't reaching back there to look) I know you all needed to know that! Other than that i slept a large portion of the day away, which is honestly why I'm here with you tonight, because if i hadn't, I might've been tempted to go to a movie with a friend of mine, but i would've had to have been away earlier to actually commit to a plan to do that. (shrugs) Maybe next week!
Anyways SNL HO!!!!!
