It's no surprise that we're being lied to about Trump's unscheduled visit to Walter Reed yesterday. What is surprising is that a "normal" Trump physical takes four hours. No, heart disease would not be responsible for a physical to take four hours. I've been through heart failure and even when I was at my sickest a physical never took more than an hour. What the hell is wrong with him? [CNN]

It's not official of course but Trump has been invited to testify under oath in the House. And everyone knows what happens when you invite a vampire in. [AP]

Trump isn't waiting for Jennifer Williams to take the stand in open Impeachment hearings on Tuesday morning: he's attacking her now. [CNN]

How bad is Trump at trade wars? He set us so far back in China that it will take more than a Democrat President just to get us back to where we were. [Insider]

China is still persecuting the Uighurs. We don't care about that because the Uighurs are a Muslim minority. This predates Trump so when students return from university to discover that their family is missing there is a bipartisan lack of outcry in the US. [Independant]

Hong Kong just got worse. A couple hundred protesters are surrounded and trapped inside a university. Chinese soldiers are on the streets. Police are threatening to use live ammunition. [Reuters]

Bloomberg may be foolishly unaware that Democrats are in no mood to elect an actual billionaire but at least we got an apology for one of the worst things that he was responsible for: stop and frisk. Racism as police policy. I say we got an apology. I don't say there's a reason to forgive. [Politico]

Politics Corner has a full dance card this week: We have three days of open Impeachment hearings and live blogs for each.

Tuesday morning we'll hear from Jennifer Williams and Alexander Vindman. Assuming Schiff keeps things on track, Kurt Volker and Tim Morrison will testify after lunch.

Gordon Sondland will be on the hot seat on Wednesday morning followed by Laura Cooper and David Hale.

Thursday morning Fiona Hill will be taking the questions.

But wait, there's more! Politics Corner will post early on Wednesday to live blog Tyler Perry's Democratic Presidential Debate at Tyler Perry's Studios. The Democrats have wisely scaled back the...what's that? They what?! Let's start over. The Democrats removed only ONE candidate since the last Debate and one candidate removed himself. So there will be ten candidates shouting over each other this time. At least the two NEW candidates can't qualify until at least December.

There will be regular Politics Corner threads every night except Wednesday when the live blog will replace the regular Politics Corner.
