Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Nov. 18

Here are today's contestants:

- Kevin, a retired IT manager from Ohio, knows the limited variety of ways Alex thanks Johnny;
- Beverly, a university business administrator from California, has a lot of dated cards from her husband; and
- Andrew, a journalist from Ontario, wore a hot British uniform as a tour guide. Andrew is a two-day champ with winnings of $30,800.

Andrew had a chance to take the lead on DD3 but missed, then continued to drop back, helping Kevin to a runaway at $20,600 vs. $6,600 for Andrew and $4,600 for Beverly.

DD1, $800 - HOW HIGH - The stopping point for Everest's southern face: 17,600 feet (Kevin won $1,400 on a true DD.)

DD2, $1,200 - A MAN OF THE CLOTH - In 1878 this retailing pioneer suggested the price of a nickel for items that weren't selling quickly (Kevin lost $4,000 from his leading total of $16,600 vs. $8,800 for Andrew.)

DD3, $1,600 - HOME IS WHERE THE ART IS - A full-length portrait of George Washington from this 18th c. artist is often admired by tourists at the White House (Andrew lost $3,000 from his score of $14,400 vs. $17,000 for Kevin.)

FJ - U.S. CITIES - Celebrating electricity & tech., an exposition in this U.S. "City of Light" in 1901 was overshadowed by another major event

 Only Andrew was correct, so his struggles late in DJ cost him the game. Keven dropped $5,000 to win with $15,600.

Movie miscues: I guess the players didn't get a good look at the actor playing Mr. Rogers in the upcoming biopic, Tom Hanks. Also, they didn't know the Texas singer portrayed by Gary Busey in 1978 for which he was nominated for an Oscar, Buddy Holly.

Shameless shilling: Along with the Mr. Rogers movie plug, we had a clue that was essentially an ad for Grubhub (similar to one from July 26 of this year)  and another category devoted to Audible (for the fifth time since 2017).

One more thing: It been announced that James will face off against Ken and Brad in a special prime-time tournament on ABC in January.

Correct Qs:
DD1 - What is Base Camp?
DD2 - Who was Woolworth?
DD3 - Who was Gilbert Stuart?
FJ - What is Buffalo?
