What's On Tonight (Tuesday): New Amsterdam Has A Case That Hits Too Close To Home... And Of Course, It's Personal

Arrrrr Matey--Here Be What Be On TV Tonight---October 22nd, 2019 You See....

8:00

NCIS (CBS): Investigating a Marine who is credibly accused of murdering her neighbor while being treated for insomnia by a hypnotherapist. Gibbs befriends a new neighbor after a 9 year old's baseball crashes thru his window. (Gibbs yelling at a kid for breaking a window with a baseball is oddly something the show has never done yet...see? 17 years in, and they're still finding new stories to tell!)

The Voice (NBC): The Battles Night 4

World Series (FOX): Game 1 of this annual fall classic finds the Washington Nationals Vs. the Houston Astros.

Its The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (ABC): Maybe this'll finally be the year that Linus sees the title character! (I would not bet money in Vegas on it tho--i mean the odds have gotta be a million to one that the ending changes right?)

The Flash (The CW): Barry prepares a member of Team Flash for life without him while also hunting a meta human with an unquestionable thirst; Ralph uncovers a family secret.  ("Now you see here, this is what you do when the toilet won't stop running ok? See you gotta jiggle the handle just like this see? Now if i cease to exist, someone else has gotta know how to stop the toilet from running")

Finding Your Roots (PBS): Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and L.L. Cool J are the pair who get to trace their ancestry tonight. (This is actually a rerun from 2016, but i'm sure nothing in the show itself could actually date the episode right?)

8:30

Toy Story of Terror (ABC): When Woody and Buzz stop off at a motel for the night, one of them goes missing and the rest of the Toy Story gang must figure out what's going on.  (First off, "When Woody and Buzz stop off at a motel for the night????" Second of all---"the rest of the Toy Story gang must figure out what's going on" you mean what's going on at the motel? the motel where Woody and Buzz stopped off for the night???) (Clearly shenanigans of one kind of another happened)

9:00

FBI (CBS): A father of two is kidnapped after accidentally getting involved in illegal dealings far beyond what he imagined. Jubal must make a difficult decision regarding his family and their future. (I honestly kinda wish the sentence had read "FBI must make a difficult decision...")

This Is Us (NBC): Rebecca hosts a dinner party; Kevin tries to support those around him; Randall faces concerns about how his family is adjusting to their new home.  (If This Is Us is anything like former longtime Tuesday night at 9 o'clock on NBC timeslot occupant Frasier--the dinner party Rebecca is hosting will surely go off without a hitch) (I wonder if this timeslot is cursed when it comes to planning dinner parties!)

Mixed-ish (ABC): Bow has to consider the social impact of her date choice for the first school dance of the year; Johan discovers a newfound love of fashion; and Santamonica spends some time with Harrison. ("A newfound love of fashion???" "A newfound love of fashion?!?!?" "A newfound love of fashion!!!!")

Arrow (The CW): Oliver, John, Laurel, and Tatsu seek out an important person within the Monitor's plan; Connor has a heart to heart with his brother. (That important person??? You guessed it...Frank Stallone!)

Retro Report on PBS (PBS): Lessons from a 70's housing experiment; newborn testing; legacy of a boy who spent his life in a bubble; head injuries in sports. (Whoa, whoa, whoa Bubble Boy's!!!!)

The Purge (USA): The city cleans up after last night's purge but for Ryan, Marchis, Esme, and Ben, the lingering after effects of the night are still in full swing. (Is this gonna end up being a show about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder brought on due to The Purge--because that would be one way of making your show stand out from the movie series a bit to be sure)

Chopped (FOOD): The 50,000 Sweets Showdown Challenge rolls on, while a preliminary battle spotlights home made ice cream. (nods)

The Curse of Oak Island (History): Its still a two hour clip show of past seasons highlights and a sneak peak at the upcoming new season...but Jasoo will say something if i don't list it so here it is! (I aim to please!)

Life Below Zero (Nat Geo): More Alaskan People Survive The Extreme Cold Stories!

Bering Sea Gold (Discovery): Shawn rolls the dice on digging deeper as Ken brings the heat before the winter freeze, a new dredge design for the Kellys, Emily is working non-stop. (Non-Stop! Non-Stop! Non-Stop!)

9:30

Black-ish (ABC): When Dre is invited to join a private social club for the black upper class, Bow and the family jump at the opportunity to mingle with a new community; Junior helps Pops pick out a wedding date. (Will said date occur around a sweeps month??? Do the networks even still have sweeps months???)

Green Acres (MeTV): Hooterville residents find priceless jewlery in their cereal boxes. (????)

10:00

NCIS New Orleans (CBS): Lt. Max Landry asks the field office for help when he suspects his girlfriend is a spy; Lasalle faces another devastating dead end as he searches for his still missing brother, and he's starting to suspect the worst.  (I watch this show every week, and even i don't know who the heck Max Landry is let alone why the team is on a first name basis with him--he's not Tom Arnold recurring character i know that cause Tom Arnold's character was named Elvis...the mystery of Max Landry continues I guess.)

New Amsterdam (NBC): When Sharpe has a case that hits too close to home, she and New Amsterdam must team up to make things right for their patient; Iggy and Bloom are forced to make a tough call on a unique situation.  (A Case That Hits Too Close To Home...A Tough Call....A Unique Situation...Go Home New Amsterdam, You've Clearly Had One Too Many Here As You've Just Become Much Too Much!)

The Douglas Family Dynasty: Fame, Addiction, Finding Home (ABC): This hour long Diane Sawyer special finds her interviewing both Cameron Douglas and his father Michael Douglas about the impact of Cameron's long held drug addiction and the 7 years he spent battling it while in prison.  (Remember that movie Michael made along with his dad Kirk--"It Runs In the Family???" Was Cameron in that or did they have to cast another actor to play Michael's son there? I vaguely remember it being promoted at the time as a Douglas Family Affair Movie)

Frontline (PBS): President Trump turns immigration into a political weapon that fuels division and increases incidents of violence in the U.S.  (Whoa, whoa, whoa....we have a President Trump??? How come I havn't heard of this guy before??? I feel like if this guy was President, surely i would've heard of him before right???)

Mayans M.C. (FX): A deal is put on the table for the MC but the price is apparently paid in blood. (This episode runs until 11:16 tonight)

Treadstone (USA): "The Kwon Conspiracy" Bentley returns to the CIA; Tara travels abroad; Edwards digs deeper; Doug has nightmares. (I feel like these could all be This Is Us plotlines---ok maybe not the "returning to the CIA" plotline but the rest surely could be transposed onto This Is Us characters...and now i'm imagining a world where This Is Us and The Bourne Identity somehow merge)

Greenleaf (OWN): Lady, Mae, Bishop all throw an impromptu dinner party (again?) to support Harmony and Hope's plans for Calvary Church; Charity's loyalties are questioned; and Grace navigates between playing the obedient pastor for Judge Wilmore and her parent's schemes. (Lady May Bishop sounds like it should be the name of a punk rock band honestly--you know like The Runaways or The Donnas or something)

Most Terrifying Places (Travel): a ghost pirate haunts an island; a kid is terrified in his bedroom

Gold Rush-Pay Out (Discovery): Somehow Gold Rush gets a spin-off show of its own! (Is Gold Rush that popular a show??? Apparently it is!!!! I myself would've gone with Young Gold Rush, but that's just me)

10:30

The Misery Index (Tru TV): This Impractical Jokers Plus Jameela Jamil Game Show has "Joe, and Q finally becoming gentlemen, a little piggy going to the emergency room, a man rides an elevator from hell, a clumsy paramedic, and an accidental sexy text battle breaks out." (This all sounds like a lot for a half hour game show honestly--but those impractical jokers do have a lot of energy to burn off I guess)

HAPPY TUESDAY ONE AND ALL---HOPEFULLY EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU WILL FIND A PRIZE IN YOUR CEREAL BOXES AS WELL!!!!
