What's On Tonight (Thursday): French Stewart's Snide Sous Chef Takes Center Stage On 'Mom'

Greetings, Greetings, Greetings, One and All....Here is what's on for Thursday October 17th 2019

8:00

Young Sheldon (CBS): Sheldon takes a break from science when he becomes obsessed over "Lord of the Rings" to an unhealthy degree; Missy asks George to teach her how to play catch. (Really? Catch? I thought Missy was supposed to be the more street smart sibling here)

Superstore (NBC): When the local mall closes, Amy and Dina get excited about the potential new influx of customers but quickly realize that many of them don't actually come to the mall to shop; Cheyenne learns she's not as cool as she thinks she is. (That's ridiculous, Cheyenne is tote cool!)

Thursday Night Football (FOX): Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos

Grey's Anatomy (ABC): There doesn't appear to be an episode synopsis on either my cable guide or the ABC website itself. (How is that possible???) but the episode is titled "It's Raining Men" (wha?) Thanks to Gena we got a Dish summary of the episode which is thusly-"Meredith stirs up negative press for Grey Sloan, so [she] tries to make things right with her former colleagues."(Thanks Gena!!!)

Supernatural (The CW): Sam, Dean, and Castiel call on Rowena to help keep the evil souls at bay and get an unexpected assist from Ketch. (Spinoff idea---"Love That Ketch")

8:30

The Unicorn (CBS); When Wade changes his password to his online dating profile, his friends go to great lengths to keep tabs on him. (why???) Grace and Natalie are torn when a tv show that they had been watching with their mother returns with new episodes. (Awwww--now see that's a plotline that is fraught with emotional resonance right there)

Perfect Harmony (NBC): When Arthur is faced with a choir rebellion, he decides against Ginny's advice and takes on Adams (the group's alpha) at the deer hunting trip. Wayne takes Cash on his first hunting trip to teach him how to be more of a man. (Silly Arthur, Never Take Sides Against The Ginny!)

9:00

Mom (CBS): Christy escorts a reluctant chef Rudy (French Stewart!!!!!) to court ordered AA meetings; Bonnie's attempts to make Adam feel more at home in the apt keep going poorly.  (For me, French Stewart's snippy sous chef was one of the highlights of the show's first season when he was actually a regular cast member rather than recurring--so an episode centered around him will surely be good and not at all like over-flavoring a main dish with garlic or paprika)

The Good Place (NBC): Uncertainty abounds when an unexpected visitor arrives (The episode is titled "Tinker, Tailor, Demon, Spy" which i mean come on, you can't beat that!)

A Million Little Things (ABC): Maggie is shocked to learn eric's true identity; Eddie realizes how much he wants to be a part of Carlie's life; Katherine makes a decision about her and Eddie's relationship. (Ohh those Million Little Things People and the Million Little Things They Do!) (I don't know either)

Legacies (The CW): Determined to move forward with her life alone, Hope's latest hunt leads her on a collision course with her past; Landon's new found status as the popular guy leads to tensions with Josie; MG contemplates telling Lizzie how he feels about her. ("Lizzie, Lizzie, Lizzie...oh, oh, oh Lizzie" Wait that's the wrong show i'm doing here--i was doing James Spader on The Blacklist)

Halloween Cake-Off (FOOD): The monster of all wedding cakes---the bakers create monster themed wedding cakes leading to all sorts of crazy cake designs. (I do like the idea of a Bride of Frankenstein Wedding Cake quite honestly)

Alaskan State Troopers (Nat Geo): Back to back episodes of this hour long reality show that features the lives of state troopers living and working in Alaska. (makes sense)

Alaska: The Last Frontier (Discovery): Not to be outdone but Discovery has its own Alaska themed reality show here "As winter comes to an end, Otto surveys the condition of his transport boat, and the Kitchners begin preparing the homestead for spring"

9:30

Carol's Second Act (CBS): When Dr. Jacobs collapses after running a marathon, Carol becomes her doctor and they clash over her course of treatment; Daniel and Lexi try to help Caleb overcome an old phobia of his. (Is it clowns??? Are they all about to treat Pennywise over here??? Do you think this show's gonna last btw??? I mean i could see it running a couple of seasons, but not quite ever becoming a giant hit)

Sunnyside (NBC): Speaking of shows that clearly aren't long for this world---"Garrett gives Diana some media training as she tries to pass a new bill; With Brady's help, Hakim finds a creative new way to practice medicine" (Seriously, once again if this thing gets beat by Legacies over on the CW--you can say goodbye to it asap--last week managed to squeak out a win by a tenth of a point, who knows if that'll happen again! We're all on pins and needles here waiting for the first casualty of the fall here and there's no way this isn't that right???)

Green Acres (MeTV): Lisa hands her birthday gift list to Oliver; the townspeople stage an intervention. (Gonna Hold An Intervention, Gonna Hold It Fine, We Ain't Braggin', We're Gonna Coat That Pine!) (Ponderosa Pine--ooh-ooh!)

10:00

Evil (CBS): Kristen, Ben, and David are hired to evaluate Eric--a seemingly psychopathic 9 year old boy; Eric takes a liking to David which leaves them all hopeful that they can curb his violent behavior but his violent behavior isn't so easy to tame; Kristen's 4 daughters lie about a game their grandma brought over.  (Sooo many daughters) (Also this was the episode cited by some of the critics in their original reviews of the show, they all said this episode was very off putting--did they mean that in a good way or a bad way tho remains to be seen!)

Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC): Rollins clashes with the parents of a teenage runaway; the squad comes together for a significant event. (Significant event?!?!?!? This show has already been thru everything i could possibly think of, what milestone could they be marking here?)

How To Get Away With Murder (ABC): The FBI continues to interrogate Conner causing him to panic while being put under pressure; Annalise, Tegan, and the other students defend a woman accused of violating a disabled man's civil rights for developing an app that discriminates against him. (You know who should be defending the disabled man??? Bull. God could you imagine Bull crossing swords with Annalise Keating??? The stuff crossover show dreams are made of!)

Mr. In-Between (FX): Lady troubles, Old friends, and Hearts in trees. (Hearts In Trees???? Hearts In Trees!!!!)

Temptation Island (USA): Somehow this reality show came back with a new season last week--tonight's episode is titled "The Cuffs Are Off" (So i guess the cuffs are off???)

Impractical Jokers (TRU TV): Be Like Hockey Mike and enjoy tonight's new episode which features "Murr, Sal, Q and Joe showcase questionable products to participants; then they rescue strangers who don't need to be rescued; the big loser must hit and run his mouth to get himself out of trouble" (Hit and run his mouth????)

Beat Bobby Flay (FOOD): Ted Allen and Jeannie Mai tag team one another to take on the title chef; they try and recruit help from authentic Italian experts Ryan De Persio and chef Guiseppe Fanelli who are hoping Bobby will be begging for Mama Mia. (Who begs for Mama Mia???)

Holzer Files (TRAVEL): San Diego's Whaley House--the most haunted house in America--is explored by the title man and his investigative team. (nods--who determines what the most haunted house in America is anyways???? Is there like a national contest where people enter these houses into or something?)

10:30

The Misery Index (Tru TV): Jamila Jamil hosts this new game show that teams up the various Impractical Jokers with contestants to take on the various contestants biggest fears for cash prizes! (The Impractical Jokers On A Game Show?!?!?!? Well Now I've Seen Everything!!!)

HAVE A GOOD THURSDAY ONE AND ALL!!!!!
