What's On Tonight (Friday): Red Reddington Rejoices As The Blacklist Returns For Season 7

Hi. This is what's on for Friday October 4th 2019.

Streaming:

Goliath (Amazon Prime): The Billy Bob Thornton Legal Drama Returns For Season 3

Big Mouth (Netflix): Animated Nick Kroll Show Returns For Season 3

Peaky Blinders (Netflix): Normally Fun British Crime Drama Returns for Season 5 (!!!) (I don't think i made it past 2 myself, but i enjoyed it--Is Sam Neil still on it btw?)

Raising Dion (Netflix): New show starring Michael B Jordan and Jason Ritter from the creator of Jericho--Carol Barbee about "A single mother must hide her young son's superpowers while investigating their origins and her husband's death"

Netflix also has the 2nd season of a documentary show about food production called "Rotten"

Also new to netflix is the 2nd season of an animated show called "Creeped Out" and the 3rd season of an amimated show called "Super Monsters." (Both shows are rated Y7 which leads me to suspect that they're both aimed at kids yes?)

Broadcast:

8:00

Hawaii 5-0 (CBS): After becoming trapped in a deadly tunnel collapse, Tani and Junior must plot an escape for themselves and several other civilians; Eddie the dog sniffs out a bomb that has been planted in McGarrett's home. (Eddie the dog?!?!?!? Has McGarrett secretly been Martin Crane this entire time??? Well Martin Crane was a cop pre retirement!)

The Blacklist (NBC): James Spader Monologue: The Series returns with tonight's season 7 premiere (Season 7!!!!!!) "After Red's abduction by Katarina Rostova, he finds himself in hostile territory unsure of who if anyone he can trust; With few leads to go on, Liz and the Task Force venture into unknown danger as they race to find him." (Last season ended with a fantastic season finale btw, but then they had  one of those lead character is kidnapped cliffhanger endings which was less fantastic, but at least it looks like Liz's mom is going to be a character now and not just an abstract shadowy figure from the distant past. Do you think she also likes to monologue by any chance???)

American Housewife (ABC): Katie's life is flipped turned upside down when her notoriously elusive boss Whitney pops into town and promotes Katie. (Yay???) A colleague's death pushes Greg towards an existential crisis. Oh the episode is titled "Bed, Bath, and Beyond Our Means" (Ha, I get it, cause the show is about a family trying to keep up financially with the others in their town)

Friday Night Smackdown (FOX): Friday Night Smackdown Wrestling migrates back to network tv tonight (I remember when it premiered on UPN back in the late 90s like it was yesterday)Will it beat the ABC sitcoms and The Blacklist in the ratings???

Christmas At Pemberly Manner (Hallmark): Your Hallmark Channel Movie of the evening is this one from 2015. (shrugs)

8:30

Fresh Off The Boat (ABC): While Grandma, Emory, and Evan look to the future, Louis and Jessica take a trip down memory lane. Eddie on the other hand is stuck trying to investigate the present after his first college visit doesn't go according to plan.  (Oh man Eddie is looking into colleges already---between that and him having grown 5 feet since the show premiered---its hard to believe the show has been on as long as it has already!)

9:00

Magnum P.I. (CBS): A pickpocket asks Magnum for help when a cellphone he had recently stolen get a very suspicious text message. (sounds plausible) Magnum is still waiting on word from Higgins on whether or not she would like to become his partner in sleuthing.

20/20 (ABC): A woman who was kidnapped as an infant by the serial killer who murdered her mother finds out the truth and demands a proper investigation into the death of her mom. (but you know how your mom died--right? its right there in the synopsis)

Great Performances (PBS): "Now Hear This: Scarlatti Man Out of Time" Scott Yoo visits Spain and Morocco to understand how Scarlatti infused Vivaldi's melodies and Bach's figures with the sounds of Spain. (Ah yes, the sounds of Spain!)

Ancient Aliens (History): A mysterious mountain in Northern Italy has stood witness to strange sightings in the sky and unexplanable phenomena for hundreds of years but could it all be attracting extraterrestrial visitors and also could there be technology within its rocky slopes? (Could it? Sure, in theory. Is it? Probably not, but i'm also a skeptic by nature)

Gold Rush (Discovery) "No Guts, No Gold" is the episode title. (Ok????)

Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives (FOOD): A Boston pizza jpint uses beer in its crust, and tops it with taco fixings, A Rock and/or Roll hangout in Santa Fe New Mexico serves up carne asada pizza, and a spot in Reno Nevada gives new meaning to apple pie. (New Meaning To Apple Pie?!?!?!?)

9:30

Green Acres (MeTV):  Eb surprises everyone with his marriage plans as he tries to impress a girl's father. (Ohh that Eb!!!--Wednesday at 8 on UPN!)

10:00

Blue Bloods (CBS): Frank and Erin are at odds when Frank learns that the DA's office keeps a list of officers they consider unreliable. Danny and Baez recruit a retired mobster to assist in their investigation. A predator poses as a ride share driver. (Is the retired mobster the one that used to recur played by Dan Hedaya??? Also that last plotline sounds like it should be on another show)

John Leguizamo's Road To Spain (PBS): I'm unsure if this is an hour long staged version of his "Latin History For Morons" stage show or if this is a special in which he talks about all the stuff he learned while preparing his Latin History for Morons stage show which required a lot of prep work on his part. Either way John Leguizamo will be saying things!

Van Helsing (SYFY): After Violet's attack, Julius and Doc find information that Hansen will do anything to keep quiet. (I think Hansen is the new human villain played by Neal McDonough) (Also when did Neal McDonough find time to be on this show as well? He was literally just the villain on Yellostone over the summer! The man never stops working I tells ya!)

In Search Of....(History): This "lets go investigate famous creatures" show returns for a 2nd season and tonight goes in search of the legendary Loch Ness Monster. (well of course it does!)

Gold Rush (Discovery): There's a two hour episode apparently airing here (???) called Bombshells and New Claims.  (I don't understand this show's airing schedule since there was just a new episode on immediately before this and it was only one hour)

11:00

Room 104 (HBO): After running away from home, a teenage girl seeks safety in the titular hotel room where she encounters a woman who offers a glimmer of hope for the future. (A Glimmer!!!)

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!!
