This is What's On for October 25th 2019
Netflix
Streaming this weekend is a new season of Chuck Lorre produced show The Kominsky Method which stars Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin and was Emmy nominated for i think both actors last month, and returns for another batch of episodes about aging. Even tho i am a Chuck Lorre man, I've never actually seen it but i'm trying to imagine what it would look like on CBS. I could see Michael Douglas being embraced by CBS audiences for sure. (shrugs)
Also staring this weekend on the Netflix (actually its up right now if you wanna be technical) is the new zombie apocalypse show called "Daybreak"---- "Navigating a post apocalyptic world of zombies and Mad Max style gangs, a teenage outcast searches for his lost love" (Starring people named Colin Ford, Sophie Simnett, and Matthew Broderick?!?!?!?!? What's he doing on this???)
Also Also New This Weekend is the 6th season premiere (first half of the 6th season's episodes i should clarify) of the venerable and well liked animated show Bojack Horseman
And the long awaited Eddie Murphy IS Rudy Ray Moore biopic--"Dolemite Is My Name" which is a movie, but is one that's supposed to be quite good, and is also apparently quite close to Murphy's own heart since he grew up a huge fan of Dolemite as a young kid watching it on tv any chance he got.
Broadcast:
8:00
Hawaii 5-0 (CBS): The team investigates a home invasion turned deadly after a dangerous "monster" escapes from the basement; Max returns to Oahu with a very special guest in tow. (Is it funk legend George Clinton????)
The Blacklist (NBC): Harold Cooper's moral compass is tested when an officer whom he served with as a young man and long presumed to be dead resurfaces as a POW. (But what's Red up to in this episode? And when will he find out that Liz's new neighbor is actually Katrina Restova in a terrible disguise???)
World Series (FOX): Game 3
American Housewife (ABC): Katie ignores Greg's warning and takes Anna Kat thru a scary zombie themed maze at the annual Halloween carnival; Greg enters a pumpkin carving contest. (Greg sounds busy this week!)
Charmed (The CW): Mel and Harry try to crack the book of Elders, Macy struggles with her demon side, Maggie competes with Jordan for a promotion, Macy meets a witch named Abigael. (Well you know Macy's just channeling her inner Lou Reed with that song that goes "Hey Babe...Take a walk on the demon side..." wait, that's not how that song goes)
Raven's Home (Disney): Booker joins the ballet club in order to win over Danni, but quits when the coolest kid in town makes fun of him.
Sweet Mountain Christmas (Lifetime): "A musician who is set to headline a Christmas concert event in NYC makes a pit stop in Tennessee to see her family in the new Lifetime original" Starring Megan Hilty (whoever that is)
8:30
Fresh Off the Boat (ABC): The Huang boys wants to find a group costume that they can all agree on; Louis decides to show Jessica why Halloween is so great in an episode titled "Hal-Lou-Ween" HA!
Just Roll With It (Disney): The Bennetts and the Blatts are stranded at the radio station when a blizzard closes the roads; After the power goes out the family sees who can tell the scariest ghost story. (A Halloween Blizzard??? I guess that's possible)
9:00
Magnum PI (CBS): On Halloween, Magnum and Ju search for a skip tracer at a Halloween party while Katsumoto tracks an escaped killer who is headed to that same party!!! Higgins and Rick spend the night at an allegedly haunted house in order to debunk it. (Way to get into the holiday spirit you guys!)
Dateline (NBC): Years after a Montana man is found dead, his son opens up a box of case files searching for what really happened.
20/20 (ABC): "The Slender Man" case is revisited as the woman who was stabbed by her friends 19 times and left out in the woods to die of Waukesha Wisconsin speaks out years after the grizzly incident.
Dynasty (The CW): Fallon and Blake deal with the consequences of their actions in diferent ways; Dominique continues with her demonic plans. (Demonic? That can't be right tho the episode is titled "Wild Ghost Chase")
American Masters (PBS): "Rothko: Pictures Must Be Miraculous" Mark Rothko a master of abstract expressionalism created 835 paintings during his 50 year career. (Whatever you say PBS--I wouldn't challange you on that claim)
Gabby Dunn and the Unsittables (Disney): When Gabby hears a rumor about herself going around at school, she uses a fantastic telepathic alien on order to find out who started it, but this ends up jeopardizing the alien in the process. (Fantastic Telepathic Alien???)
Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives (Food): Checking in on a diner where law enforcement hones their skills and stiffs their gills, a French trained chef turned barbeque expert teaches Guy a thing or two about smoking sausage; a legend serves up a Mexican American mashup. (I'm guessing a Grilled Cheese Taco???)
Gold Rush (Discovery): Rick and his father fly into the mountains on a treasure hunt for massive nuggets; Tony and Monica investigate a gold hot spot the dredges may have missed; Parker must make a difficult decision regarding the fate of his crew. (Gold Rush must make a difficult decision)
9:30
Green Acres (MeTV): Lisa and Oliver unexpectedly board an airliner headed for D.C. (Nods)
10:00
Blue Bloods (CBS): Frank works to vindicate a detective accused of using excessive force; Danny and Baez track down a killer responsible for the death of a rapper's bodyguard; Jamie is skeptical about a relationship between Espinoza and a rookie officer. (Wait why is Frank working to vindicate this detective? Usually he's all about trying to stop use of excessive force because "the community needs to be able to trust the officers in the street" or something like that)
Songwriting with Soldiers (PBS): This PBS thing has soldiers working alongside professional musicians to help them express their experiences thru lyrics and song. (This is a show or a one off hour long filler special???)
Van Helsing (Syfy): Sam and The Brides arrive at Fort Collins where Hanson reveals a secret about raising The Dark One. (I honestly find Sam and the Brides to be the least appealing ongoing plotline being spun this season, but then again I also find Sam to be a reeeeaaallly one note character--and that note is Kill Everyone and Everything--tho Christopher Heyerdahl looks to be having fun at least)
Ghost Nation (Travel): A horror writer's family home in Mantua New Jersey is haunted. The team goes to investigate. LOLs are had. (OK i made up that last part, but maybe its true, we don't know!)
11:00
Comedy Central Standup Presents: Dulce Sloan (at 11) and Will Miles (at 11:30)
Room 104 (HBO): A father and son artist duo named Jimmy Ray Flynn and Gianni are invited to create a work of art in Room 104 where they then open up about their relationships, their new creative process, and Gianni's history with addiction and mental illness. (Is this an installment of an anthology show or an episode of 20/20 here???)
WELL I GUESS THAT"S IT AS FAR AS TV TONIGHT! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
