There are oh so many ways this Presidency could fall. Never before has one President been surrounded by so many scandals. The Wall Street Journal has been reduced to arguing against impeachment because Trump is too incompetent to carry out that kind of fraud. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if the President were forced to resign over sexual assault just to save all of his enablers from prison. Here's a possible avenue. [ABC News]
Meanwhile we have a rogue Presidency. It's obvious that nothing is considered off limits whether it's something as stupid (and probably unenforceable) as "banning" the New York Times and the Washington Post from the White House. I doubt the President is smart enough to realize that removing the Times and the Post from the premises make it far more likely to call reporters for details thus raising the opportunities for leaks exponentially. Far more nefarious than even what is alleged in Ukraine, the Department of Justice has now opened a criminal inquiry into the basis of the Russia investigation that led to the Mueller report. This makes the Department of Justice the personal weapon of the President aimed at his enemies. Nixon tried to do that and failed. No paywall, less detail. [New York Times] [Reuters]
Don't expect any relief from the rest of the Republican Party. Those in the Senate were either whining about impeachment or making damn sure that no one can stop foreign governments from influencing our election again. When Putin wins, they win. [The Hill]

Not only did Ukraine know well in advance of the phone call, but months before they devoted time to try and figure out how to handle the pressure from Trump and Giuliani to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden. We held up a trade agreement with Ukraine as well. [AP] [The Hill]
Maybe Trump should be looking for a new lawyer since his current one is desperately looking for one himself. [CNN]
BUT HIS EMAILS! Yet another reason to get rid of Commerce Sec. Wilbur Ross, he committed the cardinal sin of using private email for Commerce business. Have we learned nothing from Killary? [Politico]
Now we're deporting Marines. Sure he had some problems (and I won't hand-wave the domestic violence) but we didn't treat his PTSD and he served his time. Now we've sent him without warning to El Salvador which he last saw when he was three years old and didn't yet have giant Statue of Liberty and USMC tattoos that just might be a death sentence now. [NBC]

The Kurds say Turkey is still attacking them. Russia says everything's hunky dory. Guess who we're listening to? [Reuters]
And Trump tweets about protecting oilfields and suggests that the Kurds move there - hundreds of miles away in a desert. Might as well suggest New Mexico. [CNN]
It took long enough but another one down: Tim Ryan dropped his Presidential campaign. [NBC]
Did I forget to mention that Boris Johnson is calling for an election again? Nope. It's a non-starter. Corbyn won't agree unless a no-deal Brexit is off the table. A no-deal Brexit is still stupid bloody Johnson's dearest wish. You can look it up if you like or maybe one of our Brits will be along to tell me I'm wrong.

Political discussion welcome.
