π» STREAMING
Four Weddings and a Funeral (Hulu, 3 a.m.): I couldn't find a summary so... one wedding must make a difficult decision, another takes over the fire station, the third is finally going to see E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, and the last rearranges its Funko collection. The funeral is going to the ocean to ponder life and have deep thoughts.
A Student's Guide to Your First Year of College (YouTube, 3 a.m.): Michelle Obama produces this 10-episode NowThisNews series about how to survive your freshman year of college.
Wu-Tang: An American Saga (Hulu, 3 a.m.): This new drama chronicles a fictionalized account aout the formation of the Wu-Tang clan in 1990s New York City during the height of the crack cocaine epidemic. The first three episodes drop today.
π EASTERN / π CENTRAL
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective π₯π₯ (IFC, 8 p.m.): Jim Carey stars in this lifeless comedy as a bungling gumshoe who uncovers more than just a simple kidnapping when searching for the Miami Dolphins' missing mascot.
America's Got Talent (NBC, 8 p.m.): It's time to prep for finals! But what about regionals, semis, semi-regionals, regional semis, and national lower-zone semis?!
Animal Babies: First Year on Earth (PBS, 8 p.m.): Baby animals face new challenges as they learn how to get around on their own, from searching for food to surviving in harsh environments.
Broken Blossoms π₯ (TCM, 8 p.m.): In this wonderful D.W. Griffith-crafted silent movie that hasn't aged too well, a frail waif (Lillian Gish), abused by her brutal boxer father (Donald Crisp) in London, is befriended by a sensitive Chinese immigrant (Richard Barthelmess) with tragic consequences.
Doctor Who πΊ (Retro TV, 8 p.m.): On the third moon of the colony Delta Magna, a methane catalysing refinery's operations in the swamp disturbs the giant squid Kroll, which grew in size after ingesting the fifth segment of the powerful Key to Time. IIRC, this is also on the scarier side for Who. However, no guest appearance by Nick Kroll.
MasterChef (Fox, 8 p.m.): The top six chefs travel to London to feed 36 diners. For two, this might be the end.
FOR THE RECORD: Basketball Wives (VH1); Big Brother (CBS); Married at First Sight (Lifetime, 8:30 p.m.)
Doctor Who, "The Power of Kroll" (via The Old Doctor Who Show) |
π EASTERN / π CENTRAL
Behind Closed Doors (Reelz, 9 p.m.): A two-hour profile of showbiz pioneer Joan Rivers.
Card Sharks πΊπ² (Buzzr, 9:30 p.m.): Do you find yourself missing ABC's game show slate? Well, Buzzr still has the classics, including this Card Sharks episode from 1978.
Dog's Most Wanted (WGN, 9 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. The bounty hunter is back! No, not Boba Fett, "Dog" Chapman. After being diagnosed with terminal throat cancer, Beth decides the best way to live out her last few months is to do what she does best — huntin' fugitives.
Queen Sugar (OWN, 9 p.m.): With things are mostly fixed with Charley, Nova tries to mend fences with Ralph Angel. Violet tries to put her past behind her by revisiting her abusive ex. Romero and Charley attempt to reunite, which sounds incredibly questionable.
Songland (NBC, 9 p.m.): Hearing pitches tonight is Charlie Puth, so gear up all you Putheads!
Suits (USA, 9 p.m.): Harvey and Samantha head out on a road trip together... to Walley World (I made that last part up). Louis gets in over his head with a potential client.
Truth or Dare π₯ (HBO, 9 p.m.): HBO drops this poorly-received horror flick on a Wednesday. In it, a harmless game of Truth or Dare among friends turns deadly when someone — or something — begins to punish those who tell a lie or refuse the dare. Lucy Hale stars... bring back Life Sentence!! (Actually don't... but I'd watch it if it did come back.)
FOR THE RECORD: Action Bronson Watches Ancient Aliens (Viceland, finale); America Says π² (Game Show Network); Black Ink Crew (VH1); Building Giants (Science); The Challenge (MTV); Expedition Unknown (Discovery Channel); Forged in Fire (History); Ghost Hunters (A&E); Homicide Hunter: Lt. π EASTERN / π CENTRAL
Danny's House (Viceland, 10 p.m.): FINALE. The Insane Clown Posse and UFC fighter Joanne Calderwood explain the consequences of fighting to Danny. Later, former WWE-er Hacksaw Jim Duggan and comedian Zack Fox discuss style, fashion, and popular trends while Danny critiques dogs dressed in human clothes. I never got around to this show, but it sounds bizarre, yet fascinating.
⭐ David Makes Man (OWN, 10 p.m.): David (Akili McDowell) is a young child prodigy who lives in the projects, and struggles fitting in at his school, which he is learning that students' (Nathaniel Logan McIntyre) appearances aren't necessarily the real deal, his included. He easily lies to teachers (Phylicia Rashad) and his mom (Alana Arenas) as he is dragged into the drug dealing business, and he sees his dead friend (Isaiah Johnson), who himself was a dealer. Tonight, his mom's difficult day turns catastrophic when she is fired by her boss, leaving her home life in jeopardy. David's is reminded by others (Ade Chike Torbert) that he can't run away from his (dealing) responsibilities. (The first three episodes are available for free on YouTube.)
Hollywood Game Night π² (NBC, 10 p.m.): Gaming tonight are Derek Hough, Sherri Shepherd and Oliver Hudson face off with Kal Penn, Ester Dean, and Joel McHale.
Magical Land of Oz (PBS, 10 p.m.): Below the surface of Australia's three surrounding oceans is an abundance of unique marine wildlife, from predators in the Indian Ocean to the animals living in the Pacific and Southern Oceans.
Pearson (USA, 10 p.m.): Keri goes on a trip with Stephanie. Angela assists her neighbors. Jessica contends with Yoli's problem.
Press Your Luck πΊπ² (Buzzr, 10 p.m.): Even back in the 1980s, Press Your Luck contestants had to be careful of Whammies. I'd argue even more careful than those 2019 players.
Sherman's Showcase (IFC, 10 p.m.): An aging punk singer explores the many different white artists who have performed on Sherman's Showcase. Sherman used his show as a platform to try and bridge the racial gap — sometimes it worked, sometimes it was awkward.
Snowfall (FX, 10 p.m.): Franklin struggles with the fallout from his actions as his family prepares for the worst. Teddy scrambles to keep his operation afloat.
South Side (Comedy Central, 10:30 p.m.): Officer Turner's father asks her to compete in a spades tournament, and Simon learns the moves for steppin'.
Younger (TV Land, 10 p.m.): FINALE. Liza struggles to balance without Kelsey, who starts strategizing with an unlikely ally (spinoff plz!). Diana and Charles both make moves for the future. I don't see Josh in this description, even though he was the (UNNECESSARY) CLIFFHANGER last week.
