What's On Tonight (Tuesday): Adam Ruins... Bugs?

Hey-ohhhh. Once again, there beith not very much much tonight but lets take a look anyways shall we???

8:00

NCIS (CBS): In a rerun of last season's finale, Gibbs is asked to investigate the drug overdose of someone very close to him. (Its his ex-wife's daughter--Fornell's daughter) He also ends up coming face to face with the supposed to be dead ex NCIS agent Ziva David in the last 10 seconds of the episode setting up the cliffhanger for next week's season premiere. (Cannot Wait!)

America's Got Talent (NBC): Part 1 of the season finale where i'm assuming a winner is crowned???

The Resident (FOX): Also being rerun is this show's last season finale in prep for next week's season premiere.

Bachelor In Paradise (ABC): This latest iteration of the endless reality franchise comes to a close tonight with a 3 hour finale (Jeebus Christ!) "Four remaining couples spend one last night in the Fantasy suites before deciding if they are ready to go to the next level" (shrugs) Is Summer TV Over Yet?!?!?!?!? Almost??? Can't happen fast enough!!!

Pandora (The CW): Raylen is on trial for his life after being accused of having sabotaged the Teresh Kova, Jax has her doubts about Raylen's veracity when his wife arrives from Zatar to defend him. (nods) Special Guest Star Natalie Zea--No i'm kidding--i just keep striving to find ways to merge this show with Justified simply because they share a main character's name. Say that Justified sure was a swell show.

Country Music (PBS): The Ken Burns documentary keeps rollin' right along with "Hillbilly Shakespeare--1945-1953" Country stars of post war America including Hank Williams whose songs were inspired by his troubled and tragically short life. ("Your Cheatin' Heart Will Tell On You...You'll Cry and Cryyy the whole night thru....but sleep won't come...the whole night thru....you'll have to comment on this site anew")

9:00

FBI (CBS): This show also reruns its previous season finale in prep for next week's premiere---Maggie (played by Missy Peregrym) uncovers new infomation about the whereabouts of the criminal who killed her fiancee (this happened before the show started for the record) and together with the rest of the team pursues this lead. This was also i believe the last episode that Sela Ward is going to be in as a cast member---No she wasn't killed--but she was i think asked to be written out of the show as she wasn't happy being away from her family since the show shoots in NYC and her family lives elsewhere.

Mysteries Decoded (The CW): Tonight this series chronicles the Bermuda Triangle. (Didn't they do this one already???) (Maybe its just deja vu from having covered all those History Channel and Discovery shows over the summer)

Expedition Unknown (Travel): Josh exposes the last secrets of the Third Reich as he searches for long lost treasures stolen by the Nazis. (Did he think to check the Bermuda Triangle by any chance?)

Bering Sea Gold (Discovery): More gold mining taking place in Nome Alaska as this show season premieres. For the record this is this show's 11th season--and i've literally never heard of it before just now so that's interesting.

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Sgt Carol waits forever for Gomer to agree to sing in the Marine competition show she is trying to organize. (Gomer singing and being recruited to sing somewhere feels like its been a plotline of this show at least a dozen or so times now in the time i've been covering this for WOT soooo i guess it was a crutch the writers leaned on? When in doubt? Do a Gomer Sings episode?)

That is followed at 9:30 by Green Acres where "The Hooterville farmers are given the chance to fly to Europe for some reason" (I added the "for some reason" part but seriously why are they offered a chance to fly to Europe? Do i really wanna know here?)

10:00

NCIS: New Orleans (CBS): And with this we hit the trifecta of CBS shows that are rerunning last season's finale in time for next week's season premiere. Here we have "The River Styx Part 2" where Pride and co must somehow make sense of the ongoing convoluted plotlines that were kind of a mess last season and take down the guy who killed his dad as well. If i remember right there's a lot of Scott Bakula being drugged and having hallucinations of his teammates being dead happening here--as he spends a good portion of the episode captive by the bad guy whose motives i was never really sure of tbh...anyways there's a lot of arty lavish set design and gothic visions happening here, but seeing as how the show is returning for season 6 next week--i think we can be rest assured that Bakula emerges unscathed! (or deeply scathed--i don't know, he spent most of this past season being stalked by the literal manifestation of the angel of death so who knows what mental trauma he'll undergo next season) THERE'S ALSO BLUES MUSIC!!!!What??? Yeah its a bit of tonal whiplash to be sure.

Mayans MC (FX): This Kurt Sutter show runs over to 11:20 tonight! 11:20! "The Mayans seek justice while Galindo's deal takes an unexpected turn south of the border" (South Of The Border...Down Mexico Way...That's I Fell In Love...Where the stars came out to plaaayyyy...)

Greenleaf (OWN): "While facing her past, Grace gives Phil the opportunity to impress key church leadership, Lady Mae steps in to do damage control in Grace's absence, and she is faced with Mae's ghost." (Greenleaf everybody...Greenleaf)

Adam Ruins Everything (TRU TV): Tonight's top pick has Adam uncovering the benefits of spiders, and why more people should be eating bugs as a protein source, and illustrates the benefits of little bugs on gut health. (Are they twiddle bugs???) (You can clearly see why i made this show top pick tonight!) (No Matthew, we really can't) (Yeah i don't really have a good reason here either tbh)

Code of the Wild (Travel): Going to southwest Florida in search of long lost loot of pirate Jose Gaspar which is rumored to be worth around 30 million dollars if found. (The key word there is IF found! IF!)

Tosh.0 and The Jim Jefferies Show also both return with new episodes tonight in this hour on Comedy Central....if either show floats your boat, I say go for it as there's clearly not much else on to compete with it.

Seriously Thank the TV Gods that next week opens up the floodgates of new tv programming once again because yeesh!
