What's On Tonight (Thursday): Young Sheldon, Grey's Anatomy, Superstore, The Good Place, HTGAWM And SVU ALL Return!

There's plenty of returning shows tonight September 26th 2019

8:00

Young Sheldon (CBS): Going into its 3rd season tonight (already?) "After the mental breakdown of Dr. Sturgis in the season finale, Mary worries that Young Sheldon is headed down a similar path and seeks to remedy that; Georgie discovers that he has a knack for sales" (If it means anything in The Big Bang Theory episode that had Sheldon visiting adult Georgie played by Jerry O'Connell--Georgie owns/manages an auto parts store--i think it was an auto parts store? Yep--googling it--he runs a successful chain called "Doctor Tire")

Superstore (NBC): Going into its 5th season tonight (already?) "Amy tries to help the employees cope with Mateo's ICE detention and the introduction of a new robot co-worker who makes them all fear that they could be replaced." Since this is Superstore, I'm gonna lay the odds of the robot malfunctioning or breaking down by the end of the episode at like 90 to 1.

Thursday Night Football (FOX): Eagles vs Green Bay Packers

Grey's Anatomy (ABC): Going into its 16th season tonight (already?) "Meredith, Richard, and Alex must deal with the consequences after Bailey fires them for insurance fraud. After disappearing in the fog, Jackson helps a ma in a dangerous situation, Tom gets new responsibilities at the hospital." (I have no idea who Tom is--do any of you know who Tom is??? I know who all the other names are!)

The Outpost (The CW): Tonight this summer replacement show airs back to back episodes, the 2nd of which is the season finale but first we have "Garret faces a bitter enemy, Talon fights off the Prime Order, Nava is imprisoned for her crimes and Janzo continues to come to her defense, and The Mistress pieces together some very important pieces of Janzo's history." (JANZO?!?!?!? JANZO!!!)

30 For 30 (ESPN): Chuck and Tito "Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz are frenemies from SoCal who brought millions of fans to mixed martial arts and supercharged the UFC"

Naked and Frozen (Discovery): This spin-off series premieres tonight "300 miles from the Arctic Circle, 2 naked survivalists combat hypothermia and frostbite in the tundra of Alaska's Boreal Forest.

8:30

The Unicorn (CBS): This new series debuts tonight starring Walton Goggins, Michaela Watkins, and Rob Corddry among others. "After a full year of being a widow, Dave tries to get back out into the dating scene with some help of friends and family members" (shrugs--CBS? CBS? CBS?)

Perfect Harmony (NBC): This new series also debuts tonight starring Bradley Whitford and Anna Camp. "When a former Princeton music professor stumbles into choir practice at a small town church, he finds singers who are out of tune in more ways than one" (shrugs--NBC? NBC? NBC?)

9:00

Mom (CBS): Going into its 7th season tonight (Lucky 7!) This sitcom finds "Bonnie struggling to enjoy the perfect honeymoon with Adam; Christy makes some questionable changes at the bar while the two are away" (Why is she running the bar in the first place again?!?!?!?)

The Good Place (NBC): Going into its 4th (and final) season "Eleanor assumes the role of the architect and the group adopts to the challenges facing them when 4 new test subjects inhabit a new neighborhood under their supervision. (So now they're the new Ted Dansons of the show??? Hey Look Everybody--Its The New Ted Danson!!!!)

A Million Little Things (ABC): The surprise success of last season--(seriously did anyone think this would end up being even a semi hit this time last year???) this show starts its 2nd season tonight with "When Deliah goes into labor, Eddie feels compelled to tell Katherine the truth about being the baby's father. Gary and masie struggle with living together post cancer. Rome and Regina continue to be at odds about having a baby of their own."(Its always something with these million little things people)

The Outpost (The CW): In the season finale of this capable summer filler series---"The Prime Order attacks the Outpost, Talon risks everything with a bold plan, Garret seeks his revenge, Gwynn must decide the fate of someone she once trusted."  (Bold Plan! Bold Plan! Bold Plan!) (Someone Once Trusted! Someone Once Trusted! Someone Once Trusted!) (Yeah i know....I'm just trying to jazz it up here)

Naked and Afraid (Discovery): Season 11 of this reality show finds "Dropped into Guyana's scorching Savannah, two fans battle oppressive heat and relentless insect attacks, scorching temps lead to severe dehydration and force a desperate fan to risk illness by drinking unsanitary fluids." (Unsanitary fluids??? sooo pee yes???)

9:30

Carol's Second Act (CBS): Carol enthusiastically begins her first day as an intern but gets off to a rocky start when she disregards strict orders to help a patient, Carol meets Dr. Ford a senior attending physician who may be an ally to her in future episodes. (So Carol's Second Act is essentially a studio audience multicam version of Scrubs yes??? but instead of Zach Braff its Patricia Heaton)

Sunnyside (NBC): A former NYC Councilman finds his calling when he meets a group of immigrants in search of the American Dream. Its set in the Queens neighborhood of Sunnyside which gives the show its title. (Kai Penn who stars and co-created the show wrote it drawing inspiration from his own childhood upbringing--but he was brought up in Flushing and didn't think Flushing would work so well as the name of a show--to which I--a person who lives not too far from there say--Yeah you're probably right--but why Sunnyside--why not Bayside???? Hashtag--Shoutout to Bayside)

10:00

Evil (CBS): Forensic Psychologist Kristen Bouchard is hired by the Catholic Church to determine whether a serial killer is possessed by a demon or merely a psychopath. (What do you mean merely a psychopath??? Anyways this show from the creators of The Good Wife is supposed to actually be good just based on the critical reviews of it amounted so far, so your guess is as good as mine as to how it sustains itself as a series, but hey Michael Emmerson is in it! CBS? CBS? CBS?)

Law and Order SVU (NBC): SEASON 21 starts tonight (Already???) Seriously tho with the start of tonight's 21st season--the show officially enters the history books as the longest running drama on network tv--although that's only going by number of seasons and not episodes produced, but still its a lot of SVU that's been made and tonight they soldier on with "When an actress accuses a high powered media mogul of attempted rape, Benson finds herself in a high stakes game of cat and mouse. Changes in the squad room put Det. Carisi between a rock and hard place." SVU EVERYONE--SVU!

How To Get Away With Murder (ABC): This show enters its 6th (and also final) season with "Annalise struggles with the toll that Laurel and Baby Christopher's disappearance takes on everyone, Oliver, Frank, and Bonnie disagree on the possible reasons behind Laurel's vanishing act, and Teegan handles the aftermath of Emmett's apparent poisoning. (Remember Emmett? He was played by Timothy Hutton last season? It looked like he was gonna be a formidable foe for Annalise? Well he's dead now apparently)

Impractical Jokers (TRU TV): HOCKEY MIKE! HOCKEY MIKE! HOCKEY MIKE!
"Joe, Murr, Sal, and Q are at the massage parlor for much "kneaded" relaxation, They ask strangers their opinions on questionable Yearbook ads, the big loser has an awkward but fantastic time in the sun"

Beat Bobby Flay (FOOD): This show has two back to back episodes tonight for some reason---In the first one "Carson Kressley and Chef Anne Burrell team up while Chefs Kevin Sweeney and Nicco Muratore vie to beat Bobby" And in the second of the two episodes "Food Network Star Winner Eddie Jackson teams up with Man Vs. Food host Casey Webb, while Eric Bolyard and Sarah Murray team up to well you know"

TV! TV! TV! NEW! NEW! NEW!
