This Is What's On Monday Sept. 16th 2019
8:00
The Neighborhood (CBS): In a rerun of this show's first season finale (ahead of next week's season premiere) Dave pesters Cedric into taking him as a plus one to a fancy golf course, but gets upset when he discovers racism at the club. Now because this is a CBS sitcom, the racism he gets upset by is a double standard and not you know actual outright hatred---Cedric gets barred from attending i think the restaurant there unless he takes off this ridiculous hat he's wearing or something, and Dave is like "its not racism, i bet if i wear the same exact hat, i also get asked to take it off or leave" and so he does wear it and then gets upset when no one says anything to him. Cedric shrugs it off but Dave gets upset. Its very sitcommy but i like that the show in its own broad hamfisted way is trying something.
American Ninja Warrior (NBC): Las Vegas Semi Final Nationals Night 4!
So You Think You Can Dance (FOX): Season Finale finds a winner declared!
Dancing With The Stars (ABC): New season with new semi-celebs trying to dance as fast as they can! The only person i know who's on this off the top of my head is that Sean Spicer guy--i dunno why either!
Country Music (PBS): This Ken Burns documentary rolls on with "Nashville becomes the center of the music industry as it grows in popularity during the Great Depression and World War 2"
8:30
Big Bang Theory (CBS): Say goodbye to Sheldon and Leonard and co one last time as part 2 of the series finale gets rerun tonight, and CBS says goodbye to being able to run exclusive reruns of the show as after tonight reruns of the last season of the show officially exit CBS's domain and join the rest of the series in syndication for seemingly the rest of eternity. CBS will very much miss being able to plug in random reruns of the show all over their schedule, but hey you still got Young Sheldon
9:00
Bull (CBS): In this double shot of reruns of the show, also returning with new episodes next week--"Bull takes the case of a dead tech billionaire's brother who wants to bring a suit against the dead man's doctor for completely misdiagnosing him, but ends up having second thoughts as the case rolls on" And in the second episode "Bull must convince the jury that an alleged murder was actually a tragic accident when he takes on the case of a woman being charged with the death of her 3 year old step-daughter" Meanwhile in the B story of this show, Bull's ex-wife shows back up. Bull's ex wife is also the sister of his colleague Freddy Rodriguez which led to some explosive fireworks between the two men at the end of the second episode (It ended with Rodriguez punching out Bull and quitting)
The Terror (AMC): A story of the past provides insights into the present evil that stalks the Terminal Islanders, Chester returns home to his family; Henry and Asako are faced with difficult decisions.
The Comedy Central Roast Of Alec Baldwin (Comedy Central): The annual late summer (very late summer in this case) Comedy Central Roast gets broadcast tonight with the resident SNL Trump impersonator and sometimes movie star getting the Roast Treatment. I wonder if past instances in which he lost his temper will come up.
A Very Brady Rennovation (HGTV): "The Second Story" Ha???
Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Three hippies help Gomer paint a truck for base maneuvers but the results are hardly standard military camouflage. (The episode's title? "Flower Power")
This is followed as usual by Green Acres at 9:30 with "Arnold sets out to capture the bank robbers that held Lisa and Oliver hostage" (That'll Do Pig...That'll Do) (Also a pig who stops bad guys would probably make a solid CBS procedural--i could see the pig donning a pair of sunglasses and oinking)
10:00
The Good Doctor (ABC): In a rerun of this show's last season finale---"Shaun gets beat up at a bar resulting in potential head trauma" (he gets knocked out pretty good) He got himself fired from being a surgeon at the hospital thru no fault of his own---the new attending did not like him and insisted on removing him from the dept---he tries to have him relocated to the Diagnostics Dept (led by Astrid from Fringe!) but Shaun feeling demoralized yells at him "I. Am. A Surgeon" repeatedly and ends up getting fired because you can't yell at your boss and expect him to give you your old job back apparently. If i remember right tho it didn't actually have a cliffhanger ending as somehow this gets resolved by the end of the episode.
Lodge 49 (AMC): As the Lynx prepares for the Mystic Chords of Memory--Dud's wound worsens, Blaise glimpses into the past, and Liz goes on the journey of orbis. (If you know what any of these things means....I gotta catch up on this show---maybe during the week since technically we're still in rerun mode for this week)
Cops (Paramount): An apologetic mother is lucky to be alive after crashing on a dark road, deputies question two passengers during a routine traffic stop, and a young driver admits his situation doesn't look good after being pulled over. (COPS IS FILMED IN FRONT OF A LIVE STUDIO AUDIENCE!!!!!)
Hogan's Heroes (MeTV): Hogan makes Col. Klink and Major Hofsteader believe that the war is over for some reason.
American Dad (TBS): This is a rerun, but its a fantastic episode being rerun as "Stan becomes increasingly obsessed with the rebroadcast of a single episode of a 60's lounge show after finding an old fashioned TV--aka a big tv and not a flatscreen and lugging it home with him." The details of the 60's lounge show keep changing every single time Stan watches it, and the changes beguile him to the point of becoming unhinged--and its a very Twilight Zone like episode. I dug it quite a bit when i saw it a little while back.
HAVE A GOOD MONDAY YOU GUYS!!!!
