What's On Tonight (Friday): Netflix Has Sasha Baron Cohen as "The Spy" and The UnXplaned Says Goodbye

This is WOT for Friday September 6th 2019

Netflix has a new mini-series premiering tonight called simple "The Spy" and it stars the actor best known for Borat as a former real life spy. "In the 1960's, Israeli clerk turned secret agent Eli Cohen goes deep undercover inside Syria on a perilous, years long mission to spy for The Mossad"

Elsewhere on Netflix we have something called "Archibald's Next Big Thing" about  a happy go lucky chicken (its animated) and starring Tony Hale!  We also have season 2 of a Spanish show called "Elite" about an exclusive private school and the students who go there whom end up covering up a murder for some reason. (shrugs) Maybe there'll be a Spanish David Caruso to make puns and bust them??? Also Season 3 of something called "Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father" (ok)

As for Broadcast we have the usual spate of reruns with some new episodes of cable shows mixed in

Hawaii 5-0 (CBS): Taryn Manning reprises her occasional role as MacGarrett's sister visiting him this time clamming she's witnessed her neighbor murdering someone a la Rear Window. (its an all right one i saw it when it aired last May)

American Housewife (ABC): We get an American Idol based rerun ep where the oldest daughter Taylor dreams of auditioning for the show (with guest appearances from the current judges on the show) and Katie (who is the titular Housewife) has to bite her lip and try to support her daughter for some reason. Also Greg enlists Oliver and Ana Kat's help to drum up support for the Historical Guild.

That's followed at 8:30 on ABC by a rerun ep of FRESH OFF THE BOAT where The Huangs are thrilled to find another Chinese family moving in to the neighborhood, but quickly realize that they don't have all that much in common. Eddie and Emory are thrilled to find a neighbor house has a pool in its backyard and apparently no one home to swim in it so they try to swim in it themselves via sneaking in.

Battlebots (Discovery): ROBOTS FIGHT! ROBOTS FIGHT! ROBOTS FIGHT!

9:00

Magnum PI (CBS): In this rerun ep---A guy dying and in dire need of a bone marrow match enlists Magnum to track down his missing twin brother. Magnum of course gets more than he bargained for by doing so. (CBS? CBS? CBS?)

What Would You Do? (ABC): Its a new ep--for whatever reason, the synopsis on my cable guide was just a general synopsis of the show itself and not a specific episode synopsis.

Live From Lincoln Center (PBS): Odyssey Chamber Music Society In Greece. (I am unclear if this is taking place in Greece or actually at Lincoln Center)

Ancient Aliens (History): Only synopsis i found was the episode title which was "Nuclear Agenda" (Interesting!)'

Ghost Brothers--Haunted Houseguests (Travel)

Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (Food): In Santa Fe, New Mexico, a pub serves lights out lamb neck and tamales; in Kansas City MO. a tapas joint serves duck tongue tacos and braised pork jowl, and in El Paso Texas, a deli makes papusas and fries from chickpeas. (FOOD!)

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Gomer inadvertently reveals the location of his platoon to the enemy during a training exercise. (D'oh!)

That's as usual followed at 9:30 by Green Acres with "Ralph shows up at Lisa and Oliver's doorstep after running away"

10:00

Blue Bloods (CBS): In this rerun from late April---Danny and Baez investigate a murder twice over when their initial suspect is failed to be identified by the witness in their police lineup so they have to double down on their investigation to find evidence. Frank and Erin come to loggerheads when Erin makes a promise to the new Governor (played by Batista from Dexter!) regarding Frank's approval of a new police bill that Frank has no intention of actually supporting. (Erin made a deal with the gov earlier in the season and now she owes him a favor which he is asking her for)

Killjoys (SYFY): Dutch and Zeph embark on a road trip to a dangerous cult on Leith to try and find the key to The Lady's ultimate destination. (They're still trying to locate her actual physical body if i remember right)

The UnXplaned (History): This William Shatner hosted show says so long for now with "A look at how some people defy the impossible in such instances as plane crashes, freezing temps, or performing superhuman feats in danger, these are remarkable tales of survival and how they force people to reconsider what they know about the will to live" (Got it)

Mysteries of the Abandoned (Discovery): Aliens shrine, a bridge in the wilderness, a castle to a secret safe space, a sea fortress, a highway in the Amazon, a mysterious structure near the Statue of Liberty in NYC. (These are the things that i'm assuming will be investigated tonight and not just a list of random things here)

Hogan's Heroes (MeTV): Hogan unravels a scheme by the Nazis to slip their own counterfeit currency to the Allies.

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND????
