What's On Tonight (Friday): Hawaii 5-0 AND Blue Bloods BOTH Enter Their 10th Seasons Tonight!

This is what's on Friday September 27th 2019.

Streaming:

Netflix has the premiere of new series The Politician starring Ben Platt as a guy destined to win multiple elections throughout his life and the concept of the show seems to be following one election that he'll end up winning per season--which i don't really get the point of if we know he's gonna win ahead of time, but ok--this season 1 follows him running for high school class president or something????

They also have something called Skylines????

Broadcast:

8:00
Hawaii 5-0 (CBS): Season 10 finds "a new ally helping out McGarrett and the team when mov bosses on the island are targeted by an assassin, meanwhile the team must say goodbye to one of its own." (I actually don't know who's leaving, so this'll actually be a surprise to me)

American Housewife (ABC): Going into season 4--this sitcom finds "The Otto Family ushering in a new era when Katie and Greg make the decision to sell off the family minivan, meanwhile Oliver suffers a setback that forces him to rethink how to accomplish his ultimate goals" (nods)

Raven's Home (Disney): The kids head off to LA with the whole family to compete in the finals of a music competition but then the competition doesn't play by the rules, the family must come together. (shrugs) That's So Raven????

Battlebots (Discovery): Soooo Many Fightin' Robots---Enough to fill up 2 whole hours on Discovery Channel Each and Every Friday Night!!!!

Christmas In Homestead (Hallmark): Your Hallmark Channel Movie of the Night is this 2015 one where a movie star shooting a Christmas themed film (natch) in a small town (double natch) falls in love with a local man who runs a bed and breakfast or something.

8:30

Fresh Off the Boat (ABC): Going into its 6th season tonight is this sitcom with "After Brandi Chastain scores the World Cup winning goal against China, and rips off her jersey; Evan gets his first case of "the tingles" and Louis and Eddie team up to give him a talk." (about puberty i'm guessing???)

Just Roll With It (Disney): In this show that i never knew existed before tonight "Blair and Owen are forced to share a room with Gator when he gets in a fight with his mom" (ohhh)

9:00

Magnum P.I. (CBS): In the 2nd season premiere of this reboot "While Magnum is waiting for Higgins to decide if she'll officially become his partner, he takes the case of a missing wife who witnessed her boss's murder during a bank robbery; Rick makes a big decision about his career." (Rick had a career???)

20/20 (ABC): The 42nd season of this long running news magazine finds the show interviewing Siegfried and Roy who talk about their long careers in showbiz, their legacy, and opening up about the tiger attack that more or less ended their career 16 years ago. (How has it been 16 years since then? I remember that being in the news like it was yesterday!)

Great Performances (PBS): "Now Hear This: The Riddle of Bach" Visiting Germany and France to learn about Bach's sonatas and solve a riddle that he had left in his portrait. (The Riddle of Bach???)

Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (FOOD): No synopsis was given, but it is listed as new!

Ghost Brothers: Haunted Houseguests (Travel): Two back to back episodes tonight finds the brothers visiting a New Hampshire Bed and Breakfast in one, and going to Minnesota to see what might be the spirit of a Gangster Ghost in the other. (Gangster Ghost?!?!?!?)

10:00

Blue Bloods (CBS): Celebrate the 10th season of this police drama with "Danny and Baez grapple with a homicide investigation brought to them by Maggie the medium who previously helped them on a case much to Danny's skepticism. Frank looks for a way to help ex partner Lenny Ross when his daughter gets arrested. (Lenny Ross is the recurring character played by Treat Williams who usually makes his seasonal appearance on the show much, much later in the season--i guess Treat was available early this year???)

Voces on PBS (PBS): The discovery of photographs revives interest in the disappearance of labor organizer Maria Morento.(When did PBS get in the true crime game here?)

Van Helsing (SYFY): This supernatural drama that unfolds in the years after a vampire apocalypse takes over the world finds "With the amulet in hand, Vanessa and Lily must escape from Elder Sam and return to the real world as they know it" (There's gonna be a binge marathon of Season 3 happening in the early morning/afternoon on Syfy--if anyone's interested)

Gold Rush (Discovery): A sneak preview of the new season of this reality show is airing here for some reason.

11:00
Room 104 (HBO): I don't normally list stuff outside the primetime hours but i guess i'll make an exception for this anthology show tonight presents an episode simply called "Itchy" (nods)

WELL I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!!!
