It's banned book week!
This week, libraries and schools around the United States celebrate the freedom to read and honor books that have been removed from library shelves and classrooms because a group or individual thinks the material is controversial in some way. This month's post is dedicated to the books and authors whose material has been challenged.
Frequently challenged and banned books:
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger
The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
Quiz Time!

Good to know I wasn't the only one who thought The Goldfinch was a hot mess! This article talks about how having a shit book turns into a shit movie. Don't forget: this book won the Pulitzer. I'm still unhappy about that. [Vox]
