Politics Corner, September 18th

"We were blessed there were no Americans killed in this attack, but anytime you have an act of war of this nature, there's always a risk that could happen." That's Secretary of State Mike Pompeo who seems to be having a bit of trouble remembering which State he serves. There may have been an act of war and it may have been done by or for Iran but it was in no way an attack on the US. Sure there's a risk Americans could die, and I could get hit by a bus, so what? [NBC]

Trump may have been convinced not to bomb Iran but hawks like Pompeo are keeping the President pumped for punishing Iran anyway. We know sanctions don't hurt Iran's government or the rich and we know sanctions are devastating for the poor and the middle class. Guess what Trump chose. [Politico]
