I'm writing this early because I'm heading out by Holy Hill for one last summer party and I might not make it back. So not much has happened yet. Although what has happened is pretty big. I'll let you fill in the blanks in the comments.
An oil field and the world's largest oil processing facility are on fire in Saudi Arabia today. Houthi rebels from Yemen have claimed responsibility for drone attacks that caused the fires. Saudi Arabia has closed down much of their oil industry and have opened their oil reserves to blunt the impact on the oil market. Expect prices to rise anyway. This is of interest to the US as a major oil consumer but also as a major supplier of arms to Trump's best buddies in Saudi Arabia. Those arms are being used in Yemen to kill Houthi. [AP]
We killed bin Laden's son months ago. Trump felt the need to tell us this today. Why today? Who knows? [Reuters]
