Today's Top Pick is the series premiere of Ricky Gervais Alley Cats, a show which apparently requires no possessive apostrophe.  The animated series follows a group of stray cats as they hang out and argue.  Your mileage almost certainly will vary with Gervais, but the trailer is funny and it's tough to go completely wrong with cat jokes.

Runner up goes to the latest movie that seems like an extended remake of a Twilight Zone episode, The Last House.  The Netflix original is about a family who finds themselves unable to leave their home and find out that the same thing appears to be happening to everyone.  Louis Leterrier directed, so go in with your expectations in check.

We also have the series premiere of Anna Pigeon, a new mystery series based on a series of books.  The titular character leaves the big city after her husband is killed and becomes a crime solving park ranger.  How much crime solving does your average park ranger do?  Apparently, quite a lot!  Hopefully she'll have enough spare time to find a man and discover the true meaning of Christmas.*

*Just realized this is on USA and not Hallmark, so likely none of that will happen.
