What's On Tonight (Friday): Some Fathers Have It Harder Than Others

Today's Top Pick is the premiere of the film Color Book on Netflix.  I'm not sure if this should be considered a premiere or a "streaming premiere" given that this film actually premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival back in 2024.  I also don't know why it didn't hit streaming sooner as I can't find a lot of info on the film.  What few reviews I could find are almost universal in their praise of this day in the life drama of a recently widowed man trying to take his son to his first baseball game.  Get ready to be hit squarely in the feels.

If you're looking for something a little lighter Netflix also has Voicemails for Isabel.  The romantic comedy is about a cute woman grieving the death of her sister by leaving voice mails on her sister's old cell number.  What she doesn't know is her sister's old number now belongs to a cute guy, who listens to the voice mails and falls in love.  Did I write "lighter?"  I meant "creepy as fuck."  You've Got Mail, another creepy as fuck romantic comedy, is even referenced directly in the trailer.  Maybe check out Taye Diggs Stepfather remake on Tubi instead.  At least we're not meant to sympathize with the psycho behavior in that one.
