Jeopardy! recap for Wed., Jun. 10

 Here are today's contestants:

- Katelyn Mueller-McLean, an accessibility audio producer from San Francisco, California;

- AJ Maroney, a beverage manager from Boston, Massachusetts; and

- Dan Laine, a software engineer from Jersey City, New Jersey. Dan is a one-day champ with winnings of $2,193.

Jeopardy!

STATE FACTS // GREEK MYTHOLOGY // TRIPLE RHYME TIME // PITTSBURGHERS // MINE, ALL MINE // THE FIFA WORLD CUP

DD1 - $800 - GREEK MYTHOLOGY - This god tried to give a gift to humans, but the spring he made produced salt water, his natural element (AJ added $1,000.)

Scores at first break: Dan $600, AJ $3,200, Katelyn $2,000.

Scores entering DJ: Dan $400, AJ $5,200, Katelyn $2,200.

Double Jeopardy!

"S"CIENCE // NEWS AGENCIES // IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT // GERMAN WORDS UND PHRASES // THAT'S 2 HOURS OF MY LIFE... // I'LL NEVER GET BACK

DD2 - $1,200 - THAT'S 2 HOURS OF MY LIFE... - A one-man show about this man who defended Leopold & Loeb, among others, is titled "A Passion for Justice" (AJ lost $2,000 down to $2,400.)

DD3 - $1,600 - NEWS AGENCIES - Meaning "the island", this news network is based in Doha, Qatar (Dan improved by $2,000 up to $2,400.)

In a low-scoring affair, AJ missed DD2 but still managed to come out slightly on top into FJ at $4,400 vs. $3,600 for Dan and $3,400 for Katelyn.

Final Jeopardy!

HEADING NORTH - If you want to visit the world’s northernmost town, know that most flights are 3 hours to or from this national capital

Everyone was incorrect on FJ. Katelyn wisely played for the Triple Stumper by betting $0 and the strategy worked for a win worth $3,400.

Final scores: Dan $2,793, AJ $1,599, Katelyn $3,400.

Wagering strategy: If Dan was going to go with a small FJ wager, the better play would have been less than $200, to force Katelyn to be correct with a non-zero wager to pass him.

That's before their time: A number to choose from, but I'll go with no one knowing the transplant that David Crosby was in need of was the liver.

This day in shilling: We had another long commercial for a sporting event thinly disguised as a category for the third time in recent weeks.

Correct Qs: DD1 - Who is Poseidon? DD2 - Who was Darrow? DD3 - What is Al Jazeera? FJ - What is Oslo?
