| The Testaments |
The boys are back in town! Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, April 8!
Our Top Pick tonight is the series premiere of The Testaments (Apple TV, midnight). This sequel to The Handmaid's Tale takes place years after the previous show's conclusion and is focused on the girls of a Gilead prep school headed by Aunt Lydia. It stars One Battle's Chase Infiniti and Lucy Halliday and includes Rowan Blanchard (Girl Meeting a very different World!). I will still defend Handmaid's as being a really good show for most of its run (well beyond season one). I've seen a wide range of feedback on Testaments, both the book and this TV adaptation.
Elsewhere, Nature visits an elephant sanctuary, Jane Andrews learns how not to dress Natalie Dormer, The Boys are back and they’re looking for trouble, Scrubs manages interns, Culinary cooks the forbidden, the Imperfect dance, Shrinking says goodbye, and Survivors feel portrayed.

EARLY STREAMING
The Boys (Amazon Prime Video, 3 a.m.): SEASON PREMIERE. "Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite" is the name of the premiere episode. This show is hot garbage in my book.
Imperfect Women (Apple TV, midnight): "Nancy's lifelong passion for dance leads to an unexpected connection."
Invincible (Amazon Prime Video, 3 a.m.): Family bonds are tested as tensions rise. When pushed to his limits, Allen discovers an unexpected friendship that changes everything.
The Lady (BritBox, 3 a.m.): SERIES FINALE. "Jane's fairy tale crumbles when she's confronted with a stunning murder trial." Murder is not how to date Natalie Dormer. I haven't watched this series, but it has Ophelia Lovibond. That's enough for me.
Shrinking (Apple TV, midnight): SEASON FINALE. "As Alice heads to college, Jimmy tries to repair things before it's too late. Also, Gaby makes a happy discovery." Shrinking with return!
⭐ The Testaments (Apple TV, midnight): SERIES PREMIERE. "This sequel to The Handmaid's Tale follows Agnes (Chase Infiniti) and Daisy (Lucy Halliday), two teens in Gilead who must navigate an elite preparatory school where obedience is brutally enforced. Their bond becomes the catalyst that will transform their lives."✔️
