Jeopardy! recap for Tue., Apr. 14

 Here are today's contestants:

- Stephanie Rice-Hoffner, a former car wash tech manager originally from New York City;

- Iain Carpenter, a healthcare IT specialist originally from Mahomet, Illinois; and

- Jamie Ding, a bureaucrat and law student from Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Jamie is a 22-day champ with winnings of $627,600.

Jeopardy!

START ME "UP" // LITERARY DREAMS // FOOD COLORING // QUOTABLE NOTABLES // DIGGING THROUGH MY BACKPACK // BANGERS & CASH

DD1 - $600 - FOOD COLORING - The Swiss creator of these crackers came up with them as a birthday present for his wife, a Pisces (Jamie doubled $5,200.)

Scores at first break: Jamie $5,800, Iain $0, Stephanie $800.

Scores entering DJ: Jamie $8,400, Iain $2,600, Stephanie $2,400.

Double Jeopardy!

HISTORIC DOCUMENTS // WORLD GEOGRAPHY // SCIENCE-ING AT HOME // NOVELTY ARCHITECTURE // MASTERPIECE ON PBS // YOU KNOW MORE DUTCH THAN YOU THINK

DD2 - $1,600 - HISTORIC DOCUMENTS - Article 1 of the first of these, from 1864, says, "ambulances and military hospitals shall be recognized as neutral" (Jamie lost $4,600 down to $9,800 vs. $3,400 for Iain.)

DD3 - $1,600 - YOU KNOW MORE DUTCH THAN YOU THINK - Haven means this; Rotterdam is een grote haven (Jamie added $2,600 up to $12,000 vs. $2,600 for Iain.)

Jamie found all three DDs and only made a small amount on them as he missed DD2, but still had little to worry about as he led comfortably into FJ at $18,400 vs. $5,400 for Iain. Finishing in the red at -$800 was Stephanie.

20TH CENTURY NONFICTION - “Stop Fuming and Fretting” & “I Don’t Believe in Defeat” are chapters 6 & 8 in this book

Both players were incorrect on FJ. Jamie dropped $2,000 to win with $16,400 for a 23-day total of $644,000.

Final scores: Jamie $16,400, Iain $1, Stephanie -$800.

TV troubles: The players missed four out of five in the PBS drama category. Earlier, for a clue in which Jamie added an extra "and" to the title of a British drama import, his opponents couldn't jump in with "Upstairs, Downstairs".

Correct Qs: DD1 - What is Goldfish? DD2 - What is Geneva Conventions? DD3 - What is harbor (port)? FJ - What is "The Power of Positive Thinking"?
