What's On Tonight (Friday): Tommy Shelby Returns...

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

After a long, tumultuous process in which no fewer than three premieres competed for Top Pick, I have decided to go with the obvious one: Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.  I made it through the first five seasons of the series before calling it quits.  I loved the show, but it was an intense watch and I figured the final season would really pull out the stops.  Watching the trailer, it looks to still have some stops to pull out.

The close runner-up for the big prize is the second season premiere of Deadloch.  The first season took a bit to win me over.   The Eddie character was so aggravating from the moment she showed up I stopped after the first episode.  Later on I started to hear and read that the show was actually really good.  I went back and by the end of the season I was really enjoying it.

The new season doesn't appear to be set in the same place but they still managed to find a reason to bring a couple of the supporting characters along.  I don't have any issues with that, but if you don't want to be spoiled on one of them you might want to scroll past the next GIF.

My other Top Pick contender is the season premiere of Jury Duty Present: Company Retreat.  The original Jury Duty series was a surprise hit in 2023.  The first season was surprisingly funny and even moving at times.  The new season is about a man thinking he's interning at a company and having to go on a company retreat.  Hijinx ensue.

๐ŸŽฅ Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (Netflix, 3:01 AM) 'Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet.'
