 Here are today's contestants:

- Jamie Ding, a bureaucrat and law student from Lawrenceville, New Jersey; and

- Luke Henson, a grocer from East Moline, Illinois. Luke is a one-day champ with winnings of $16,798.

Jeopardy!

ALL EARS // 21st CENTURY COMEDIC TV // RESTAURANTS // BURNING SOME BRIDGES // 5, 5 // GORDON RAMSAY YELLS AT HISTORICAL FIGURES

DD1 - $1,000 - RESTAURANTS - In the 1950s the carhop restaurant Top Hat chose this new name to reflect its slogan "service with the speed of sound" (Robin doubled to $3,200.)

Scores at first break: Luke -$200, Jamie $2,400, Robin $4,000.

Scores entering DJ: Luke $800, Jamie $7,200, Robin $6,600.

Double Jeopardy!

CAROLINA-CATION // A LITTLE LITERATURE // AUTO TUNES // YOU'RE SO POSSESSIVE // ARTIST OF THE PORTRAIT // REJECTED FIDDLER ON THE ROOF OPENING NUMBER TITLES

DD2 - $1,600 - A LITTLE LITERATURE - Appropriately, this 1953 Raymond Chandler novel runs 53 chapters ends with Philip Marlowe saying a farewell (Jamie dropped $3,600 down to $9,200 vs. $8,200 for Robin.)

DD3 - $2,000 - YOU'RE SO POSSESSIVE - It's the principle that "plurality should not be posited without necessity": in other words, keep it simple, stupid (On the next clue after DD2, Jamie added $1,800.)

Jamie found both DDs in DJ back-to-back, showed a net loss on them but was still able to build a runaway into FJ at $22,600 vs. $10,600 for Robin and $8,000 for Luke.

Final Jeopardy!

POLITICIANS - In a 1984 speech, he said, "our flag is red, white & blue" but American was "many colors ... held together by a common thread"

Only Jamie was correct on FJ, adding $33 to win with $22,633.

Final scores: Luke $6,311, Jamie $22,633, Robin $5,000.

That's before their time: No one knew the magazine that is most associated with Norman Rockwell is the Saturday Evening Post.

Judging the producers/writers: Between the cringeworthy Gordon Ramsey and "Fiddler on the Roof" categories, the mute button was very useful for this episode.

Correct Qs: DD1 - What is Sonic? DD2 - What is "The Long Goodbye"? DD3 - What is Occam's razor? FJ - Who was Jesse Jackson?
