Seems like today's Top Pick, the streaming premiere of Song Sung Blue, was a punching bag amongst the WOT commentators for months before it came out. Then it came out and... turned out to be pretty good? Good enough to get Kate Hudson numerous awards nominations (the only nominations the film received)? The film follows the real-life romance that sprung from a man (Hugh Jackman) and a woman's (Kate Hudson) love for performing Neil Diamond songs. I like Jackman and Hudson and Neil Diamond so maybe I'll give this one a shot.
In the runner-up slot we have the streaming premiere of after-life romantic comedy
Eternity. Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller and Callum Turner star as a recently deceased woman and her two dead husbands. They meet up in the afterlife and have to choose where they want to spend eternity and who with. Wasn't that basically also the plot of the
Lost series finale?
Also, there's a new Tyler Perry film,
Joe's College Road Trip, the trailer for which genuinely made me laugh. Something no other trailer for a Tyler Perry film has ever accomplished.
