What's On Tonight (Tuesday): He's been on the force for eight years, he should no longer be The Rookie

Tonight's Top Pick is the eighth season premiere of The Rookie, which is the third longest-running scripted series currently on ABC. The Rookie's airing episode No. 127, compared to 9-1-1, which will air episode No. 131 on Thursday, and Grey's Anatomy, which airs episode No. 455 also on Thursday. After that, it's Abbott Elementary (No. 80 on Wednesday), Will Trent (No. 42 tonight), High Potential (No. 21 tonight), Shifting Gears (No. 19 on Wednesday), and 9-1-1: Nashville (No. 7 on Thursday). What I'm getting at is that even by 2026 network TV standards, ABC has an embarassingly low number of scripted series.

While I wonder how many of the above shows will become staples on the Antenna TV channels of the future, let's see what else TV has to offer us for Tuesday, Jan. 6. All times are Eastern.
