The Rip

Today's Top Pick is the Netflix original The Rip.  Starring Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Steven Yuen and Teyana Taylor, The Rip is about a group of police officers who discover millions of dollars hidden in a house.  I'm not sure what happens after that other than everyone seems to start turning on everyone else because that's what happens when you make a movie about people discovering a metric fuck ton of cash.  People don't generally act like that over pocket change.

A close runner up for the Top Pick slot is the streaming premiere of Twinless.  The film is about two young men meeting in a support group for people who have lost their twin siblings.  The film was directed by and stars James Sweeney and has a 97% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.  I doubt The Rip will hit those heights, but Top Pick cares not for the Tomatometer.

We also have the Australian World War 2 shark thriller Beast of War, the streaming premiere of Black Phone 2, as well as the action series The Nowhere Man (not to be confused with the UPN Nowhere Man from a few decades back) and new Phineas & Ferb shorts featuring Perry the Platypus.  It is an embarrassment of riches.
