Today's Notable Opening Night is Jan. 29, 1966, when the Palace Theatre officially became a Broadway house (and the Nederlanders began operating in New York) with the premiere of Sweet Charity.
Once again, I ran out of time for an essay. I'll make up for it as soon as I can. The music of Sweet Charity is a delight, though, so please enjoy this sampler.
