Mamdani has a transition team. In what is likely a first for New York City or anywhere unless you look back as far as the Amazons, everyone on the team is a woman. That news would be greeted very differently if Cuomo had won. Of course Cuomo is the member of a very different party with different values. Mamdani will not be replicated across the country but he has moved the goal posts in the correct direction. He won't get everything or maybe even most things that he wants but NYC will never be the same. [Guardian]
