National French Dip Day!
Two Los Angeles restaurants continue to debate who originated the sandwich, so it was Philippe's or Cole's Pacific Electric Buffet. Both claim 1908.
Philippe's sign says "French Dipped Sandwiches" and they do have more than one to offer.
Mmm, there was a local place here that did a turkey dip I absolutely loved.
Cole's is a bar, and I do believe in a french dip as bar food.
