What's On Tonight (Friday): Roald Dahl, Japanese Dumps and CBS! CBS! CBS!

The Twits

For some reason HBO Max chose today to dump premiere a bunch of Japanese series, one of which I couldn't even find a description for.  All their efforts were for naught since Netflix has the premiere of The Twits, a new animated film based on the Roald Dahl book and featuring voice work from esteemed character actress Margo Martindale (amongst others).

We also have a new documentary series about Martin Scorsese and a night of premiere episodes from CBS, including Fire Country and it's Morena Baccarin-led spinoff Sheriff Country as well as the Donnie Wahlberg led Blue Bloods spinoff Boston Blue.  So, no shortage of new stuff for you to check out tonight (especially if you have HBO Max and are into Japanese TV shows).

TOP PICK

๐ŸŽฅ The Twits (Netflix, 3:01 AM) 'Mr. and Mrs. Twit are the meanest, smelliest, nastiest people in the world who also happen to own and operate the most disgusting, most dangerous, most idiotic amusement park in the world, Twitlandia. But when the Twits rise to power in their town, two brave orphans and a family of magical animals are forced to become as tricky as the Twits in order to save the city.  Featuring the voices of esteemed character actress Margo Martindale, Natalie Portman and Emilia Clarke.'
