What's On Tonight (Sunday): This above all: to thine own self be true

Shakespeare: Rise of a Genius

Ain't no thing like me 'cept me! Here's what's on television for tonight, Sunday, September 28!

Our Top Pick tonight is Shakespeare: Rise of a Genius (Ovation, 8  & 9:30 & 11 p.m.). This 3-part BBC docudrama recounts the life of William Shakespeare. In between reenactments of major life events are a variety of talking heads that are scholars and performers. Recognizable ones include Helen Mirren, Brian Cox, Judi Dench, Martin Freeman, and Adrian Lester. No Shakespeare Truthers here. As soon as I saw Jesse Buckley was one of the commentators, I thought "I'm in!"

Elsewhere, the Dead throw a surprise party, 60 Minutes turns 58, Home Videos and The Simpsons turns 37, democracy comes to KrapopolisBilly the Kid is still a thing, Shoulder Pads consider kidnapping, Chickens are stronger together, Basic Guys play hockey, and Big Brother concludes another season.
